۞ But We shall say, "Assemble those who did wrong together with their associates and what they worshipped 22 "Besides Allah, and lead them to the Way to the (Fierce) Fire! 23 And halt them, to be questioned: 24 "What is the matter with you? Why do you not help one another (as you used to do in the world)?" 25 No, today they will resign themselves in submission, 26 They will then turn towards each other (and start wrangling). 27 They will say, "Indeed, you used to come at us from the right." 28 Others will respond, "It was you who did not want to have any faith. 29 "Nor had we any authority over you. Nay, it was ye who were a people in obstinate rebellion! 30 So our Lord's Word is realised against us; we are tasting it. 31 we perverted you, indeed, we were perverts' 32 Then lo! this day they (both) are sharers in the doom. 33 Even so We do with the sinners; 34 Surely they used to behave proudly when it was said to them: There is no god but Allah; 35 and said: “Shall we forsake our deities for the sake of a distracted poet?” 36 In fact, he had brought them the truth and had acknowledged the Messengers (who were sent before him). 37 Ye shall indeed taste of the Grievous Penalty;- 38 Ye are requited naught save what ye did - 39 But the sincere servants of God 40 Those will have a provision determined - 41 Fruits, and they shall be highly honored, 42 in gardens of bliss, 43 They will be seated upon couches set face to face; 44 a cup from a spring being passed round to them, 45 white and delicious to those who drink it, 46 Wherein there is no headache nor are they made mad thereby. 47 Theirs shall be wide-eyed maidens with bashful, restrained glances, 48 (Pure) as they were hidden eggs (of the ostrich). 49 Then one turned to the other in an enquiry. 50 One of them will say, "I had a companion who asked me, 51 who would say: "Are you among the believers (of the resurrection)? 52 After we are dead and have become all dust and bones shall we still be requited?' 53 He said: 'Will you look down?' 54 Then he will look and see him in the midst of the Fire. 55 He saith: By Allah, thou verily didst all but cause my ruin, 56 And but for the favour of my lord, I should have been of those brought forward. 57 So, are we not going to die, 58 Save our first death, and are we not to be tormented? 59 Surely this is the supreme triumph. 60 For such a reward should the workers perform. 61 Is that better as a hospitality, or the Tree of Ez-Zakkoum? 62 We have made this (tree) a trial for the evildoers. 63 Lo! it is a tree that springeth in the heart of hell. 64 Its fruit like the heads of demons. 65 and they eat of it, and of it fill their bellies, 66 Then indeed, they will have after it a mixture of scalding water. 67 And afterward, lo! their return is surely unto hell. 68 They found their fathers erring, 69 So they (too) made haste to follow in their footsteps! 70 And there had already strayed before them most of the former peoples, 71 although, verily, We had sent warners unto them: 72 Then see what was the end of those who were warned (but heeded not). 73 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 74
