1/2 Hizb 45

۞ [The angels will be ordered], "Gather those who committed wrong, their kinds, and what they used to worship 22 apart from Allah, and direct them to the path of Hell, 23 and halt them [there]!" [And then,] behold, they shall be asked, 24 They will be asked, "Why do you not help each other?" 25 No, today they will resign themselves in submission, 26 and advance one upon another, asking each other questions. 27 (The followers will say to their leaders): “You used to come to us from the right hand.” 28 They will say: “Nay, you yourselves were not the ones who would believe. 29 And we had over you no authority, but you were a transgressing people. 30 and so we became deserving of the Word of our Lord that we shall be made to suffer chastisement. 31 "We led you astray: for truly we were ourselves astray." 32 On that Day, they will all share the chastisement. 33 This is how We deal with the criminals. 34 Surely they used to behave proudly when it was said to them: There is no god but Allah; 35 And say: "What! shall we give up our gods for the sake of a Poet possessed?" 36 Aye! he hath come with the truth, and he confesseth to the sent ones. 37 Now certainly you shall be tasting the painful chastisement, 38 but you shall not be recompensed except for what you were doing. 39 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 40 there is waiting for them a known provision; 41 fruits. And they are receivers of generosity 42 In gardens of delight, 43 Facing one another on thrones, 44 Round will be passed to them a Cup from a clear-flowing fountain, 45 White, delicious to the drinkers, 46 wherein no sickness is, neither intoxication; 47 And with them will be mates of modest gaze, most beautiful of eye, 48 As though they were eggs hidden. 49 Then they will turn to one another and question one another. 50 The speaker among them said, “I had a companion.” 51 who would say: "Are you among the believers (of the resurrection)? 52 [that] after we have died and become mere dust and bones we shall, forsooth, be brought to judgment?"' 53 He will say: -- Do you wish to know where he is now?' 54 and then he looks and sees that [companion of his] in the midst of the blazing fire, 55 'By God', he said, 'you had almost ruined me. 56 "Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I would certainly have been among those brought forth (to Hell)." 57 (Another will say:)"Is it true, we are not going to die 58 Except for our first death, and we will not be punished?" 59 Verily this! that is the supreme achievement. 60 For the like of this let the workers work. 61 Is that (Paradise) better entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum (a horrible tree in Hell)? 62 We have made this tree a trial for the wrong-doers. 63 For it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hellfire: 64 its spathes are as the heads of Satans, 65 The dwellers of hell will eat that fruit and fill-up their bellies. 66 Washing it down with boiling water. 67 They can only return to hell. 68 They had found their fathers astray, 69 So they hastily follow their footsteps! 70 And assuredly many of the ancients went astray before them, 71 And We had already sent among them warners. 72 Then see the nature of the consequence for those warned, 73 EXCEPT for God's true servants, [most people are apt to go astray.] 74
