۞ Gather all the wicked together and their comrades, and those they had worshipped 22 other than Allah, and guide them to the Path of Hell! 23 And stop them, for they shall be questioned: 24 "'What is the matter with you that ye help not each other?'" 25 But they, that Day, are in surrender. 26 And they will turn to one another, and question one another. 27 They say: Lo! ye used to come unto us, imposing, (swearing that ye spoke the truth). 28 They will answer, “You yourselves did not have faith!” 29 And we had no authority over you, but you were an inordinate people; 30 But now our Lord's word has come true against us: truly, we are bound to taste [the punishment]. 31 We seduced you astray; verily we were ourselves the seduced ones. 32 So verily on that Day they all in the torment will be sharers. 33 Lo! thus deal We with the guilty. 34 For when it was said unto them, There is no Allah save Allah, they were scornful 35 saying, 'What, shall we forsake our gods for a poet possessed?' 36 Nay, but he [whom you call a mad poet] has brought the truth; and he confirms the truth of [what the earlier of God's] message-bearers [have taught]. 37 Ye shall indeed taste of the Grievous Penalty;- 38 and be rewarded only according to your deeds." 39 But not the chosen servants of Allah. 40 Those! theirs shall be a provision known: 41 a variety of delicious fruits; and they shall be honoured 42 In gardens of delight, 43 Facing one another on thrones. 44 There will be circulated among them a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring, 45 delicious to those who drink it 46 No headiness there shall be therein, nor shall they be therewith inebriated. 47 And with them will be mates of modest gaze, most beautiful of eye, 48 As if they were eggs, safely hidden. 49 Then they will advance unto each other, mutually questioning. 50 One of them says, 'I had a comrade 51 who would say, "Are you a confirmer? 52 That when we have died and become dust and bones, we will indeed be recompensed?'" 53 (The man) said: "Will you look down?" 54 Then he will look and see him in the midst of the Fire. 55 He said, “By Allah, you had nearly ruined me!” 56 And had it not been for the favor of my Lord, I would certainly have been among those brought up. 57 Then, are we not to die 58 Saving our former death, and are we not to be punished? 59 Indeed, this is the mighty victory, 60 For such a reward should the workers perform. 61 Is that the better entertainment or the Tree of Zaqqum? 62 Surely We have made it to be a trial to the unjust. 63 For it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hellfire: 64 The shoots of its fruit-stalks are like the heads of devils: 65 Then most surely they shall eat of it and fill (their) bellies with it. 66 Washing it down with boiling water. 67 Then to Hell they will surely be returned. 68 Verily, they found their fathers on the wrong path; 69 But they make haste (to follow) in their footsteps. 70 And there had already strayed before them most of the former peoples, 71 And We had already sent among them warners. 72 Then see what was the end of those who were warned (but heeded not). 73 But not the chosen servants of Allah. 74
