۞ [The angels will be ordered], "Gather those who committed wrong, their kinds, and what they used to worship 22 "Besides Allah, and lead them to the Way to the (Fierce) Fire! 23 Stop them. They must be questioned." 24 They will be asked, "Why do you not help each other?" 25 In fact, on that day they will be submissive. 26 and advance one upon another, asking each other questions. 27 Saying: "It were you who imposed yourselves upon us." 28 Others will respond, "It was you who did not want to have any faith. 29 “And we did not have any control over you; but in fact you yourselves were rebellious.” 30 So the sentence of our Lord has come to pass against us: (now) we shall surely taste; 31 "We led you astray: for truly we were ourselves astray." 32 Then lo! this day they (both) are sharers in the doom. 33 That is how We deal with sinners. 34 They were those who, when it was said to them, "There is no god but God," behaved with insolence, 35 and said: “Shall we forsake our deities for the sake of a distracted poet?” 36 In fact he has brought the Truth, and testified for the Noble Messengers! 37 Ye shall indeed taste of the Grievous Penalty;- 38 and will be recompensed only for what you deserve. 39 But the bondmen of Allah, the sincere ones 40 there is waiting for them a known provision; 41 fruits -- and they high-honoured 42 in the Gardens of Delight, 43 (Sitting) on couches, face to face, 44 A bowl shall be made to go round them from water running out of springs, 45 White and delicious to the drinkers; 46 causing no headiness or intoxication. 47 And with them will be mates of modest gaze, most beautiful of eye, 48 As though they were eggs hidden. 49 They will turn to each other and ask questions. 50 A speaker of them will say: "Verily, I had a companion (in the world), 51 Who said: What! are you indeed of those who accept (the truth)? 52 after we die and become dust and bones, we shall be brought to judgement?'" 53 He says, 'Are you looking down?' 54 Then looketh he and seeth him in the depth of hell. 55 He said: "By Allah! thou wast little short of bringing me to perdition! 56 Had I not the guidance of my Lord, I would certainly have been brought into torment". 57 Are we not then to die 58 except our first death, and shall we not be punished' 59 Verily, this - this indeed - is the triumph supreme!" 60 For this the toilers should strive." 61 Is this a better hospitality or the tree of AzZakkum! 62 which We have made as a test for the wrongdoers. 63 Lo! it is a tree that springeth in the heart of hell. 64 Its produce is as it were the heads of the serpents. 65 And indeed, they will eat from it and fill with it their bellies. 66 Then indeed, they will have after it a mixture of scalding water. 67 Then most surely their return shall be to hell. 68 for, behold, they found their forebears on a wrong way, 69 So they (too) were rushed down on their footsteps! 70 And certainly most of the ancients went astray before them, 71 although, verily, We had sent warners unto them: 72 Then see how was the end of those warned, 73 except for the chosen servants of Allah? 74
