۞ (God will command the angels), "Gather together the unjust, their spouses, and what they had worshipped 22 other than Allah, and guide them to the Path of Hell! 23 and stop them there for questioning: 24 They will be asked, "Why do you not help each other?" 25 Indeed, today they are surrendering themselves completely.” 26 They will turn upon one another, and question one another. 27 They will say: verily ye! ye were wont to come unto us Imposing. 28 They shall say: Nay, you (yourselves) were not believers; 29 And we had over you no authority, but you were a transgressing people. 30 and so we became deserving of the Word of our Lord that we shall be made to suffer chastisement. 31 And we led you to deviation; indeed, we were deviators." 32 So this day they all are partners in the punishment. 33 As such We shall deal with the evildoers. 34 for when it was said to them, 'There is no god but God,' they were ever waxing proud, 35 and replied, "Shall we then give up our deities at the bidding of a mad poet?" 36 Nay! he (Muhammad SAW) has come with the truth (i.e. Allah's Religion - Islamic Monotheism and this Quran) and he confirms the Messengers (before him who brought Allah's religion - Islamic Monotheism). 37 Verily ye are going to taste a torment afflictive. 38 But it will be no more than the retribution of (the Evil) that ye have wrought;- 39 Save single-minded slaves of Allah; 40 For them there will be a known provision (in Paradise). 41 Fruits; and they will be honored 42 in the Gardens of Bliss 43 upon couches, set face to face, 44 A bowl shall be made to go round them from water running out of springs, 45 clear, delightful to those who drink it: 46 There shall be no trouble in it, nor shall they be exhausted therewith. 47 And with them are those of modest gaze, with lovely eyes, 48 as if they were hidden pearls. 49 They will go to one another asking each other questions. 50 one of them will say, "I had a friend, 51 who used to ask, 'Do you really believe that 52 ‘That when we are dead and have turned into dust and bones, that we will either be rewarded or punished?’ 53 He said (to others on the thrones), “Will you take a glimpse (into hell) below?” 54 and then he looks and sees that [companion of his] in the midst of the blazing fire, 55 'By Allah' he will say, 'you almost destroyed me! 56 "Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I should certainly have been among those brought (there)! 57 Are we not then to die 58 except for our first death? And shall we suffer no chastisement?'” 59 This is indeed the mighty triumph, 60 For the like of this let all strive, who wish to strive. 61 Is that the better entertainment or the Tree of Zaqqum? 62 which We have made as a torment for the unjust? 63 Indeed it is a tree that sprouts from the base of hell. 64 Its fruit like the heads of demons. 65 And verily they must eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 Then on the top of that they will be given boiling water to drink so that it becomes a mixture (of boiling water and Zaqqum in their bellies). 67 Then most surely their return shall be to hell. 68 They had indeed found their forefathers astray. 69 So in their footsteps they are being hastened on. 70 yet before them most of the ancients went astray, 71 And certainly We sent among them warners. 72 Observe, then, what was the end of those that had been warned, 73 Save the bondmen of Allah sincere. 74
