۞ But We shall say, "Assemble those who did wrong together with their associates and what they worshipped 22 besides God, and lead them to the path of the Fire; 23 "But stop them, for they must be asked: 24 What aileth you that ye succour not one another? 25 Nay, but on that Day they would willingly surrender [to God]; 26 And some of them inclined towards others, mutually questioning. 27 They shall say: Surely you used to come to us from the right side. 28 They will say: "No, you were the ones who would not believe. 29 "Nor had we any authority over you. Nay, it was ye who were a people in obstinate rebellion! 30 “So the Word of our Lord has proved true upon us; we will surely have to taste (the punishment).” 31 "We led you astray: for truly we were ourselves astray." 32 On that Day they will all share the punishment: 33 Surely thus do We deal with the guilty. 34 They were those who, when it was said to them, "There is no god but God," behaved with insolence, 35 And (they) said: "Are we going to abandon our aliha (gods) for the sake of a mad poet? 36 In fact he has brought the Truth, and testified for the Noble Messengers! 37 (They will be told): “You shall taste the grievous chastisement. 38 but you shall not be recompensed except for what you were doing. 39 But the bondmen of Allah, the sincere ones 40 shall have a known provision -- 41 fruits -- and they high-honoured 42 in the Gardens of Delight, 43 On thrones, facing each other. 44 They will be served with a cup full of crystal clear wine, 45 White, a pleasure unto the drinkers. 46 Neither they will have Ghoul (any kind of hurt, abdominal pain, headache, a sin, etc.) from that, nor will they suffer intoxication therefrom. 47 Theirs shall be wide-eyed maidens with bashful, restrained glances, 48 (Delicate and pure) as if they were (hidden) eggs (well) preserved. 49 Then shall some of them advance to others, questioning each other. 50 A speaker of them will say: "Verily, I had a companion (in the world), 51 who used to say: -- Are you also one of those who confirm the Truth (of life after death)? 52 What! when we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then be certainly brought to judgment? 53 He said: 'Will you look down?' 54 Then, he will look and see him in the midst of Hell. 55 And he will say: by Allah, thou hadst wellnigh causedest me to perish. 56 But for Allah's favour, I should be one of those who have been mustered here. 57 (Allah informs about that true believer that he said): "Are we then not to die (any more)? 58 except our first death, and shall we not be punished' 59 This will indeed be great happiness. 60 For the like of this let the workers work. 61 Is that the better entertainment or the Tree of Zaqqum? 62 We have made this (tree) a trial for the evildoers. 63 It is a tree that grows in the nethermost part of Hell. 64 and its fruits are like devils' heads. 65 So indeed they will eat from it, and fill their bellies with it. 66 And behold, above all this they will be confounded with burning despair! 67 They can only return to hell. 68 They found their fathers had gone astray; 69 So they hastily follow their footsteps! 70 And truly before them, many of the ancients went astray;- 71 And indeed We had sent Heralds of warnings among them. 72 Then see what was the end of those who were warned (but heeded not). 73 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 74
