۞ "Bring ye up", it shall be said, "The wrong-doers and their wives, and the things they worshipped- 22 apart from God, and guide them unto the path of Hell! 23 And stop them; verily they are to be questioned: 24 They will be asked, "Why do you not help each other?" 25 But they, that Day, are in surrender. 26 And some of them shall advance towards others, questioning each other. 27 (The followers will say to their leaders): “You used to come to us from the right hand.” 28 They answer: Nay, but ye (yourselves) were not believers. 29 "Nor had we any authority over you. Nay, it was ye who were a people in obstinate rebellion! 30 The sentence of our Lord has come true for us. We have certainly to taste (the punishment), 31 So we led you astray, for we ourselves were erring. 32 So verily on that Day they all in the torment will be sharers. 33 Certainly, that is how We deal with Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, the disobedient to Allah, etc.). 34 They were those who, when it was said to them, "There is no god but God," behaved with insolence, 35 and replied, "Shall we then give up our deities at the bidding of a mad poet?" 36 'No indeed; but he brought the truth, and confirmed the Envoys. 37 Behold, you will indeed taste grievous suffering [in the life to come,] 38 and be rewarded only according to your deeds." 39 But the chosen servants of God; 40 for them awaits a known provision, 41 fruits. And they are receivers of generosity 42 In gardens of pleasure 43 (Sitting) on couches, face to face, 44 Round them will be passed a cup of pure wine; 45 White, delicious to those who drink. 46 Wherein there is no headache nor are they made mad thereby. 47 And with them are those who do not set gaze upon men except their husbands, the maidens with gorgeous eyes. 48 as if they were hidden pearls. 49 Then they will turn to one another, mutually questioning. 50 One of them will start the talk and say: "I had an intimate companion (on the earth), 51 'Do you believe in the Day of Judgment? 52 What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be requited?" 53 He will say, "Would you [care to] look?" 54 Then he will look down and see him in the midst of the Flaming Fire. 55 He will say, "By Allah, you almost ruined me. 56 But for Allah's favour, I should be one of those who have been mustered here. 57 But then, [O my friends in paradise,] is it [really] so that we are not to die 58 except for our first death? And shall we suffer no chastisement?'” 59 Truly, this is the supreme success! 60 For the like of this let the workers [on earth] work. 61 Is that better by way of hospitality or the Zaqqum tree, 62 which We have made as a test for the wrongdoers. 63 For it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hell-Fire: 64 The fruit thereof is as though the hoods of the serpents. 65 So indeed they will eat from it, and fill their bellies with it. 66 Washing it down with boiling water. 67 Then most surely their return shall be to hell. 68 They had indeed found their forefathers astray. 69 So they (too) were rushed down on their footsteps! 70 And assuredly there went stray before them many of the ancients. 71 And indeed We sent among them warners (Messengers); 72 Then look how was the end of those who were warned - 73 Save single-minded slaves of Allah. 74
