۞ [And God will thus command:] "Assemble all those who were bent on evildoing, together with others of their ilk and [with] all that they were wont to worship 22 other than Allah, and guide them to the Path of Hell! 23 "But stop them, for they must be asked: 24 "What is the matter with you? Why do you not help one another (as you used to do in the world)?" 25 indeed, on that Day they will surrender themselves. 26 They will then turn towards each other (and start wrangling). 27 saying: 'You used to come to us from the right hand' 28 They shall say: Nay, you (yourselves) were not believers; 29 And we had over you no authority, but you were a transgressing people. 30 “So the Word of our Lord has proved true upon us; we will surely have to taste (the punishment).” 31 For we had led you astray. In fact we ourselves were astray." 32 So, they will become partners in punishment. 33 Certainly, that is how We deal with Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, the disobedient to Allah, etc.). 34 Indeed they, when it was said to them, "There is no deity but Allah," were arrogant 35 And said: Shall we forsake our gods for a mad poet? 36 Nay, but he brought the Truth, and he confirmed those sent (before him). 37 Ye shall indeed taste of the Grievous Penalty;- 38 and not be recompensed, except according to what you were doing.' 39 But the chosen servants of God; 40 shall have a known provision -- 41 Fruits, and they shall be highly honored, 42 In gardens of delight, 43 They will be seated upon couches set face to face; 44 Cups of wine will be presented to them in rounds, from a spring flowing in front of them. 45 White, delicious for the drinkers. 46 Neither does it intoxicate, nor give a headache. 47 and with them wide-eyed maidens restraining their glances 48 like closely guarded pearls. 49 Then shall some of them advance to others, questioning each other. 50 One of them will say, "I had a companion who asked me, 51 “Who used to tell me, ‘Do you believe it is true?’ – 52 When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, shall we be recompensed?" 53 Allah will say: will ye look down? 54 He will look down and see him in hell. 55 'By Allah' he will say, 'you almost destroyed me! 56 "Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I would certainly have been among those brought forth (to Hell)." 57 What, do we then not die 58 Save our first death, and are we not to be tormented? 59 Lo! this is the supreme triumph. 60 For such a reward should the workers perform. 61 Is that better as a hospitality, or the Tree of Ez-Zakkoum? 62 Which We have reserved as punishment for evil-doers? 63 It is a tree that grows at the bottom of Hell. 64 Its emerging fruit as if it was heads of the devils. 65 Truly they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 then in addition to it they shall have a draught of boiling water to drink; 67 And thereafter verily their return is unto the Flaming Fire. 68 Truly they found their fathers on the wrong Path; 69 So they in their footsteps are rushing. 70 And indeed most of the men of old went astray before them; 71 And indeed We sent among them warners (Messengers); 72 Then look how was the end of those who were warned - 73 EXCEPT for God's true servants, [most people are apt to go astray.] 74
