۞ Gather together the evildoers, their wives, and that they were worshipping, 22 "Instead of Allah, and lead them on to the way of flaming Fire (Hell); 23 And stop them; verily they are to be questioned: 24 'Why do you not help one another? 25 Indeed, today they are surrendering themselves completely.” 26 And some of them draw near unto others, mutually questioning. 27 "It was you who tried to mislead us from righteousness". 28 They answer: Nay, but ye (yourselves) were not believers. 29 We had no power over you. In fact, you were a people rebellious. 30 "So now has been proved true, against us, the word of our Lord that we shall indeed (have to) taste (the punishment of our sins). 31 we perverted you, indeed, we were perverts' 32 Truly, that Day, they will (all) share in the Penalty. 33 Certainly, that is how We deal with Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, the disobedient to Allah, etc.). 34 Surely they used to behave proudly when it was said to them: There is no god but Allah; 35 and replied, "Shall we then give up our deities at the bidding of a mad poet?" 36 (They say so although) he brought the Truth and confirmed the veracity of the Messengers. 37 Ye shall indeed taste of the Grievous Penalty;- 38 and be rewarded only according to your deeds." 39 But not the chosen servants of Allah. 40 For them is the sustenance known to Us. 41 Fruits, and they shall be highly honored, 42 In gardens of pleasure, 43 facing one another [in love] upon thrones of happiness. 44 Round shall be passed a cup unto them filled with limpid drink: 45 white and delicious to those who drink it, 46 Wherein there is no headache nor are they made mad thereby. 47 And with them will be maidens (houris) who restrain their wide glances 48 As if they were eggs carefully protected. 49 And some of them draw near unto others, mutually questioning. 50 A speaker from among them shall say: Surely I had a comrade of mine, 51 Who said: What! are you indeed of those who accept (the truth)? 52 ‘That when we are dead and have turned into dust and bones, that we will either be rewarded or punished?’ 53 He will say, "Would you [care to] look?" 54 Then he will look and see him in the midst of the Fire. 55 He said: "By Allah! You have nearly ruined me. 56 If it had not been for the blessing of my Lord, I would also have been taken to Hell." 57 “So are we never to die?” (The people of Paradise will ask the angels, with delight, after the announcement of everlasting life.) 58 and that we would not be punished?" 59 Verily this is the supreme achievement! 60 and for the like of this let the workers work. 61 So is this welcome better, or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 We have made this (tree) a trial for the evildoers. 63 For it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hellfire: 64 its spathes are like the heads of satans 65 They will eat from it and fill their bellies with it; 66 then in addition to it they shall have a draught of boiling water to drink; 67 then their return is to Hell. 68 Indeed they found their fathers astray. 69 yet they run in their footsteps, 70 Most of the ancient people had also gone astray. 71 But We sent aforetime, among them, (messengers) to admonish them;- 72 Then see what was the end of those who were admonished (but heeded not),- 73 Except the sincere (and devoted) Servants of Allah. 74
