۞ Gather all the wicked together and their comrades, and those they had worshipped 22 "Besides Allah, and lead them to the Way to the (Fierce) Fire! 23 And detain them, for they will be questioned." 24 What is the matter with you that you do not help each other? 25 Nay, but that day they shall submit (to Judgment); 26 And some of them inclined towards others, mutually questioning. 27 Saying: "It were you who imposed yourselves upon us." 28 Those say, 'No; on the contrary, you were not believers; 29 Moreover, we had no power at all over you: nay, you were people filled with overweening arrogance! 30 So the sentence of our Lord has come to pass against us: (now) we shall surely taste; 31 Therefore we perverted you, and we ourselves were perverts.' 32 And verily, on that Day they all will share in their common suffering. 33 That is how We deal with sinners. 34 Verily when it was said unto them: there is no god but Allah, they ever grew stiff-necked. 35 and said: 'Are we to renounce our gods for the sake of a mad poet' 36 Rather, the Prophet has come with the truth and confirmed the [previous] messengers. 37 you shall surely taste the painful punishment, 38 but you shall not be recompensed except for what you were doing. 39 Not so, however, God's true servants: 40 For them there is a known provision, 41 Fruits of every kind, and they will be honoured 42 (They will live) in the bountiful gardens, 43 On couches, facing one another. 44 a cup from a spring being passed round to them, 45 White, delicious to those who drink. 46 There will neither be any harm in it for their body nor will it intoxicate their mind. 47 With them will be spouses, modest of gaze and beautiful of eye, 48 as if they were hidden pearls. 49 They will turn to each other and ask questions. 50 Said one of the speakers: "I had a friend 51 who used to say: -- Are you also one of those who confirm the Truth (of life after death)? 52 What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be requited?" 53 He says, 'Are you looking down?' 54 Then he looks, and sees him in the midst of Hell. 55 He will say to his friend in hell, "By God, you almost destroyed me. 56 But for the Favor of Allah I should have surely been among those who were arraigned (with you in Hell). 57 What, do we then not die 58 and that we would not be punished?" 59 Most surely this is the mighty achievement. 60 For the like of this let the workers [on earth] work. 61 Is this a better hospitality or the tree of AzZakkum! 62 We have made this (tree) a trial for the evildoers. 63 It is a tree that comes forth in the root of Hell; 64 and its fruits are like the heads of devils. 65 and they [who are lost in evil] are indeed bound to eat thereof, and to fill their bellies therewith. 66 Washing it down with boiling water. 67 Then to Hell they will surely be returned. 68 They found their fathers had gone astray; 69 so they are rushing to follow in their footsteps. 70 And indeed most of the men of old went astray before them; 71 And indeed We had sent Heralds of warnings among them. 72 Then look how was the end of those who were warned - 73 except for God's sincere servants. 74
