۞ “Gather all the unjust persons and their spouses, and all that they used to worship!” – 22 besides God, and lead them to the path of the Fire; 23 And halt them so that they may be questioned. 24 "'What is the matter with you that ye help not each other?'" 25 Nay, but that day they shall submit (to Judgment); 26 And they will approach one another blaming each other. 27 saying: 'You used to come to us from the right hand' 28 They will reply: "Nay, you yourselves were not believers. 29 "And we had no authority over you. Nay! But you were transgressing people (disobedient, polytheists, and disbelievers). 30 "So now has been proved true, against us, the word of our Lord that we shall indeed (have to) taste (the punishment of our sins). 31 So we led you astray; we ourselves were strayed.” 32 And verily, on that Day they all will share in their common suffering. 33 This is how We deal with the criminals. 34 Indeed they, when it was said to them, "There is no deity but Allah," were arrogant 35 And were saying, "Are we to leave our gods for a mad poet?" 36 Aye! he hath come with the truth, and he confesseth to the sent ones. 37 Verily, you (pagans of Makkah) are going to taste the painful torment; 38 and be rewarded only according to your deeds." 39 But the chosen servants of God; 40 there is waiting for them a known provision; 41 and fruits while they are honored. 42 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise), 43 On couches facing one another; 44 a cup filled with wine from its springs, will be passed around to them; 45 White, a pleasure unto the drinkers. 46 There shall be no trouble in it, nor shall they be exhausted therewith. 47 And with them shall be those who restrain the eyes, having beautiful eyes; 48 who are as chaste as sheltered eggs. 49 So one among them turns to the other, questioning. – 50 One of them says, 'I had a comrade 51 Who said: art thou of those who confess to the doctrine of Resurrection: 52 After we are dead and have become all dust and bones shall we still be requited?' 53 [And] he adds: "Would you like to look [and see him]?" 54 and then he looks and sees that [companion of his] in the midst of the blazing fire, 55 He shall say: By Allah! you had almost caused me to perish; 56 If not for the favor of my Lord, I would have been of those brought in [to Hell]. 57 Is it then that we are not going to die, 58 Other than our first death, and we shall not be punished? 59 Indeed, this is the mighty victory, 60 It is for the like of this that all should strive. 61 Is this not a better reward than the tree of Zaqqum 62 Surely We have made it to be a trial to the unjust. 63 It is a tree that grows at the bottom of Hell. 64 its spathes are as the heads of Satans, 65 They will eat and fill their bellies with it, 66 Washing it down with boiling water. 67 And thereafter verily their return is unto the Flaming Fire. 68 They found their fathers erring, 69 So they (too) were rushed down on their footsteps! 70 Before them erred most of the ancients, 71 We had certainly sent warners to them. 72 Observe, then, what was the end of those that had been warned, 73 Save the bondmen of Allah sincere. 74
