1/2 Hizb 45

۞ "Bring ye up", it shall be said, "The wrong-doers and their wives, and the things they worshipped- 22 besides God, and show them the way of hell. 23 And stop them, for they shall be questioned: 24 What aileth you that ye succour not one another? 25 Nay! on that Day they will be entirely submissive. 26 and approach each other with questions, 27 Some [of them] will say: "Behold, you were wont to approach us [deceptively] from the right!" 28 Those say, 'No; on the contrary, you were not believers; 29 we had no power over you; but you yourselves were a rebellious people. 30 But now our Sustainer's word has come true against us [as well]: verily, we are bound to taste [the fruit of our sins]. 31 We mislead you and we ourselves had also gone astray." 32 Then lo! this day they (both) are sharers in the doom. 33 Verily We! in this wise We deal with the culprits. 34 for when it was said to them, 'There is no god but God,' they were ever waxing proud, 35 And said: Shall we forsake our gods for a mad poet? 36 Aye! he hath come with the truth, and he confesseth to the sent ones. 37 You shall certainly taste the painful punishment: 38 And be rewarded but only for what you had done, 39 Save single-minded slaves of Allah; 40 For them awaits a known provision, 41 fruits of various kinds; and they shall be honoured, 42 In Gardens of Delight. 43 They will be seated upon couches set face to face; 44 A cup will be passed round among them [with a drink] from unsullied springs, 45 clear, delightful to those who drink it: 46 causing no headiness or intoxication. 47 With them will be spouses, modest of gaze and beautiful of eye, 48 As if they were (delicate) eggs closely guarded. 49 Then they will turn to one another and question one another. 50 Said one of the speakers: "I had a friend 51 who used to ask, 'Do you really believe that 52 Can we, when we are dead and have become mere dust and bones - can we (then) verily be brought to book? 53 He will say: -- Do you wish to know where he is now?' 54 So he looked down and saw him in the midst of the Fire. 55 and says: "By God! Verily, thou hast almost destroyed me [too, O my erstwhile companion] 56 Had I not the guidance of my Lord, I would certainly have been brought into torment". 57 Are we not then to die 58 Except for our first death, and we will not be punished?" 59 Indeed, this is the great attainment. 60 For the like of this then let the workers work. 61 Is this better as an entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 Indeed, We have made it a torment for the wrongdoers. 63 For it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hell-Fire: 64 The fruit thereof is as though the hoods of the serpents. 65 on it they shall feed, and with it they shall fill their bellies. 66 Then on top of that they will be given a mixture made of boiling water. 67 then their return is to Hell. 68 for, behold, they found their forebears on a wrong way, 69 So in their footsteps they are being hastened on. 70 And truly before them, many of the ancients went astray;- 71 although, verily, We had sent warners unto them: 72 Observe, then, what was the end of those that had been warned, 73 Save single-minded slaves of Allah. 74
