۞ Muster those who did evil, their wives, and that they were serving, 22 other than Allah, and guide them to the Path of Hell! 23 and detain them there; they will be called to account. 24 They will be asked, "Why do you not help each other?" 25 No, today they will resign themselves in submission, 26 They will turn to each other saying, 27 Some [of them] will say: "Behold, you were wont to approach us [deceptively] from the right!" 28 [To which] the others will reply: "Nay, you yourselves were bereft of all faith! 29 And we had over you no authority, but ye were a people exorbitant. 30 "So now the Word of our Lord has been justified against us, that we shall certainly (have to) taste (the torment). 31 We led you astray as we were ourselves astray." 32 So indeed they, that Day, will be sharing in the punishment. 33 Verily that is how We shall deal with Sinners. 34 When they were told, "There is no deity but God," they turned away with disdain, 35 and replied, "Shall we then give up our deities at the bidding of a mad poet?" 36 'No indeed; but he brought the truth, and confirmed the Envoys. 37 Behold, you will indeed taste grievous suffering [in the life to come,] 38 And ye shall be required not except for that which ye have been doing; 39 Not so, however, God's true servants: 40 Those will have a provision determined - 41 Fruits (Delights); and they (shall enjoy) honour and dignity, 42 In Gardens of Felicity, 43 On thrones facing one another. 44 There will be circulated among them a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring, 45 Clear, delicious to drink, 46 Neither they will have Ghoul (any kind of hurt, abdominal pain, headache, a sin, etc.) from that, nor will they suffer intoxication therefrom. 47 And with them will be maidens (houris) who restrain their wide glances 48 As if they were (delicate) eggs closely guarded. 49 Then some of them will turn to others, and will ask each other. 50 One of them will say: “I had a companion in the world 51 Who used to say: Art thou in truth of those who put faith (in his words)? 52 That when we have died and become dust and bones, we will indeed be recompensed?'" 53 He says, 'Are you looking down?' 54 Then he looked down and saw him in the midst of hell. 55 He shall say: By Allah! you had almost caused me to perish; 56 But for my Lord's blessing, I were one of the arraigned. 57 But then, [O my friends in paradise,] is it [really] so that we are not to die 58 Other than our first death, and we shall not be punished? 59 “This is, most certainly, the supreme success.” 60 For the like of this then let the workers work. 61 Is such [a paradise] the better welcome - or the [hellish] tree of deadly fruit? 62 Which We have reserved as punishment for evil-doers? 63 For it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hell-Fire: 64 its fruit [as repulsive] as satans' heads; 65 They will eat and fill their bellies with it, 66 then on top of it they have a brew of boiling water, 67 Then to Hell they will surely be returned. 68 They found their fathers in error, 69 and [now] they make haste to follow in their footsteps! 70 And indeed most of the men of old went astray before them; 71 And indeed We sent among them warners (Messengers); 72 Then see what was the end of those who were warned (but heeded not). 73 Save single-minded slaves of Allah. 74
