۞ Gather together those who were unjust and their associates, and what they used to worship 22 “Instead of Allah – and herd them to the path leading to hell.” 23 And stop them; verily they are to be questioned: 24 "Why help you not one another?" 25 Nay! on that day they shall be submissive. 26 And some of them will confront the others, 27 "It was you who tried to mislead us from righteousness". 28 They will reply: "Nay, you yourselves were not believers. 29 we had no power over you; but you yourselves were a rebellious people. 30 But now our Lord's word has come true against us: truly, we are bound to taste [the punishment]. 31 We seduced you astray; verily we were ourselves the seduced ones. 32 Truly, that Day, they will (all) share in the Penalty. 33 Even so We do with the sinners; 34 For when it was said unto them, There is no Allah save Allah, they were scornful 35 and said: “Shall we forsake our deities for the sake of a distracted poet?” 36 'No indeed; but he brought the truth, and confirmed the Envoys. 37 you shall surely taste the painful punishment, 38 And you will be requited nothing except for what you used to do (evil deeds, sins, and Allah's disobedience which you used to do in this world); 39 Not so, however, God's true servants: 40 For them there is a known provision, 41 fruits. And they are receivers of generosity 42 In Gardens of peace. 43 on couches facing each other. 44 a goblet from a spring shall be passed round to them 45 white, a delight to the drinkers, 46 no headiness will be in it, and they will not get drunk thereon. 47 They will have with them loving wives with big black and white eyes 48 so delicate as the hidden peel under an egg's shell. 49 Then one turned to the other in an enquiry. 50 One of them will say: 'I had a companion 51 'Do you believe in the Day of Judgment? 52 After we are dead and have become all dust and bones shall we still be requited?' 53 (The man) said: "Will you look down?" 54 He looked down and saw (his friend) in the midst of Hell. 55 'By Allah' he will say, 'you almost destroyed me! 56 for had it not been for my Sustainer's favour, I would surely be [now] among those who are given over [to suffering]! 57 What, do we then not die 58 except for our first death, and are we not chastised? 59 Verily, this - this indeed - is the triumph supreme!" 60 For the like of this let all strive, who wish to strive. 61 Is this not a better reward than the tree of Zaqqum 62 We have made this (tree) a trial for the evildoers. 63 Verily it is a tree that springeth forth in the bottom of Flaming Fire. 64 Its crop is as it were the heads of devils 65 And lo! they verily must eat thereof, and fill (their) bellies therewith. 66 And afterward, lo! thereupon they have a drink of boiling water 67 Then thereafter, verily, their return is to the flaming fire of Hell. 68 They indeed found their fathers astray, 69 But they make haste (to follow) in their footsteps. 70 And truly before them, many of the ancients went astray;- 71 though We had sent warners among them. 72 Then look how was the end of those who were warned - 73 Other than the chosen creatures of God. 74
