۞ “Gather all the unjust persons and their spouses, and all that they used to worship!” – 22 "Besides Allah, and lead them to the Way to the (Fierce) Fire! 23 And stop them, for they shall be questioned: 24 "What is the matter with you? Why do you not help one another (as you used to do in the world)?" 25 Nay, but on that Day they would willingly surrender [to God]; 26 And they will turn to one another, and question one another. 27 They say: Lo! ye used to come unto us, imposing, (swearing that ye spoke the truth). 28 They will answer, “You yourselves did not have faith!” 29 we had no power over you; but you yourselves were a rebellious people. 30 So on us hath been justified the sentence of our Lord: verily we are to taste. 31 And we led you to deviation; indeed, we were deviators." 32 So this day they all are partners in the punishment. 33 As such We shall deal with the evildoers. 34 For when it was said unto them, There is no Allah save Allah, they were scornful 35 And they used to say, “Shall we forsake our Gods upon the sayings of a mad poet?” 36 Nay, but he brought the Truth, and he confirmed those sent (before him). 37 You will indeed taste a painful punishment, 38 You will only be recompensed according to your deeds.” 39 Save single-minded slaves of Allah; 40 For them there will be a known provision (in Paradise). 41 Fruits; and they will be honoured. 42 In Gardens of Delight. 43 Facing each other on Thrones (of Dignity): 44 A cup from a gushing spring is brought round for them, 45 Crystal-white, of a taste delicious to those who drink (thereof), 46 No bad effect is there in it, nor from it will they be intoxicated. 47 Theirs shall be wide-eyed maidens with bashful, restrained glances, 48 who are as chaste as sheltered eggs. 49 They will turn to each other and ask questions. 50 A speaker of them will say: "Verily, I had a companion (in the world), 51 who would say: "Are you among the believers (of the resurrection)? 52 What! when we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then be certainly brought to judgment? 53 Do you want to see him?' " 54 Then looketh he and seeth him in the depth of hell. 55 And he will say: by Allah, thou hadst wellnigh causedest me to perish. 56 But for Allah's favour, I should be one of those who have been mustered here. 57 Are we then not to die 58 [again,] beyond our previous death, and that we shall never [again] be made to suffer? 59 This will indeed be great happiness. 60 For the like of this let all strive, who wish to strive. 61 Is this better as a welcome, or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 Lo! We have appointed it a torment for wrong-doers. 63 It is a tree that grows from the bottom of Hell; 64 Its fruit like the heads of demons. 65 Truly they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 Then they will have on top of it a mixture of boiling water. 67 Then indeed, their return will be to the Hellfire. 68 They had found their fathers astray, 69 Yet they hasten to follow in their footsteps. 70 So had many an earlier people gone astray, 71 And indeed We sent among them warners (Messengers); 72 Look, then how was the end of those who had been warned, 73 Except the sincere (and devoted) Servants of Allah. 74
