۞ Gather together the evildoers, their wives, and that they were worshipping, 22 Beside Allah, and lead them on to the path of the Flaming Fire. 23 "But stop them, verily they are to be questioned. 24 "What is the matter with you that you do not help each other?" 25 No, today they will resign themselves in submission, 26 They will turn to each other saying, 27 They say: Lo! ye used to come unto us, imposing, (swearing that ye spoke the truth). 28 [To which] the others will reply: "Nay, you yourselves were bereft of all faith! 29 “And we did not have any control over you; but in fact you yourselves were rebellious.” 30 "So now the Word of our Lord has been justified against us, that we shall certainly (have to) taste (the torment). 31 And we led you to deviation; indeed, we were deviators." 32 Then lo! this day they (both) are sharers in the doom. 33 Surely thus do We deal with the guilty. 34 Whenever it was said to them: “There is no true deity apart from Allah,” they waxed proud 35 And they used to say, “Shall we forsake our Gods upon the sayings of a mad poet?” 36 No, indeed, he has brought the truth, and confirmed the Messengers. 37 Verily, you (pagans of Makkah) are going to taste the painful torment; 38 You will only be recompensed according to your deeds.” 39 Save the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 40 Those will have a provision determined - 41 and fruits while they are honored. 42 in the Gardens of Bliss. 43 On couches, facing one another. 44 Round shall be passed a cup unto them filled with limpid drink: 45 white, sparkling (wine), a delight to the drinkers. 46 No bad effect is there in it, nor from it will they be intoxicated. 47 They will have with them loving wives with big black and white eyes 48 As though they were eggs hidden. 49 And they will all turn to one another, asking each other [about their past lives]. 50 And a speaker from among them will say: verily there was unto me a mate. 51 who used to say: -- Are you also one of those who confirm the Truth (of life after death)? 52 When we are dead and have become dust and bones, are we indeed going to be requited? 53 Then he will say, "Shall we look for him?" 54 He looked down and saw him in the midst of the Fire. 55 He saith: By Allah, thou verily didst all but cause my ruin, 56 Had it not been for the grace of my Lord I too would have been there (in Hell). 57 So, are we not going to die, 58 [again,] beyond our previous death, and that we shall never [again] be made to suffer? 59 Indeed, this is the mighty victory, 60 For the like of this then let the workers work. 61 Is Paradise a better accommodation or the tree of zaqqum? 62 Indeed, We have made it a torment for the wrongdoers. 63 It is a tree that grows in the nethermost part of Hell. 64 its spathes are like the heads of satans 65 They will eat and fill their bellies with it, 66 Then after it, indeed for them is the drink of boiling hot water. 67 Then to Hell they will surely be returned. 68 They found their fathers erring, 69 So they (too) made haste to follow in their footsteps! 70 Most of the ancient people had also gone astray. 71 We had certainly sent warners to them. 72 Look, then how was the end of those who had been warned, 73 Not so the chosen servants of God. 74
