۞ (And it is said unto the angels): Assemble those who did wrong, together with their wives and what they used to worship 22 other than Allah, and guide them to the Path of Hell! 23 and detain them there; they will be called to account. 24 “What is the matter with you, that you do not help one another?” 25 indeed, on that Day they will surrender themselves. 26 And they will turn to one another, and question one another. 27 They will say, "Indeed, you used to come at us from the right." 28 Others will respond, "It was you who did not want to have any faith. 29 And we had over you no authority, but ye were a people exorbitant. 30 “So the Word of our Lord has proved true upon us; we will surely have to taste (the punishment).” 31 So we led you astray; we ourselves were strayed.” 32 So all of them on that day are sharers in the chastisement. 33 Verily that is how We shall deal with Sinners. 34 Whenever it was said to them: “There is no true deity apart from Allah,” they waxed proud 35 And they used to say, “Shall we forsake our Gods upon the sayings of a mad poet?” 36 Nay! he (Muhammad SAW) has come with the truth (i.e. Allah's Religion - Islamic Monotheism and this Quran) and he confirms the Messengers (before him who brought Allah's religion - Islamic Monotheism). 37 Ye shall indeed taste of the Grievous Penalty;- 38 and be rewarded only according to your deeds." 39 Save the chosen slaves of Allah (faithful, obedient, true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 40 Whose provision is predetermined -- 41 Fruits of every kind, and they will be honoured 42 (They will live) in the bountiful gardens, 43 On thrones, facing each other. 44 They will be served with a cup full of crystal clear wine, 45 White, delicious to those who drink. 46 Neither dulling the senses nor intoxicating, 47 And besides them will be chaste women, restraining their glances, with big eyes (of wonder and beauty). 48 like closely guarded pearls. 49 Then they will turn to one another and question one another. 50 Said one of the speakers: "I had a friend 51 Who said: art thou of those who confess to the doctrine of Resurrection: 52 When we are dead and have become dust and bones, are we indeed going to be requited? 53 Then he will say, "Shall we look for him?" 54 and then he looks and sees that [companion of his] in the midst of the blazing fire, 55 And he will say: by Allah, thou hadst wellnigh causedest me to perish. 56 If it had not been for the blessing of my Lord, I would also have been taken to Hell." 57 What, do we then not die 58 [again,] beyond our previous death, and that we shall never [again] be made to suffer? 59 Verily this! that is the supreme achievement. 60 For the like of this then let the workers work. 61 Is that better as a hospitality, or the Tree of Ez-Zakkoum? 62 Surely We have made it to be a trial to the unjust. 63 Indeed, it is a tree issuing from the bottom of the Hellfire, 64 Its spathes are like the heads of satans. 65 They will eat from it and fill their bellies with it; 66 And thereafter verily they shall have thereon a draught of boiling water. 67 Then shall their return be to the (Blazing) Fire. 68 They had found their fathers astray, 69 Yet they hasten to follow in their footsteps. 70 And assuredly many of the ancients went astray before them, 71 And assuredly We sent among them warners. 72 Look, then how was the end of those who had been warned, 73 EXCEPT for God's true servants, [most people are apt to go astray.] 74
