۞ But We shall say, "Assemble those who did wrong together with their associates and what they worshipped 22 other than Allah, and guide them to the Path of Hell! 23 And halt them so that they may be questioned. 24 "Why help you not one another?" 25 In fact, on that day they will be submissive. 26 And some of them inclined towards others, mutually questioning. 27 They shall say: Surely you used to come to us from the right side. 28 The oppressors will say, "Rather, you [yourselves] were not believers, 29 "Nor had we any authority over you. Nay, it was ye who were a people in obstinate rebellion! 30 "So now the Word of our Lord has been justified against us, that we shall certainly (have to) taste (the torment). 31 Thus we misled you. Lo! we were (ourselves) astray. 32 Then lo! this day they (both) are sharers in the doom. 33 This is how We deal with the criminals. 34 When they were told, "There is no deity but God," they turned away with disdain, 35 And to say: What! shall we indeed give up our gods for the sake of a mad poet? 36 No, indeed, he has brought the truth, and confirmed the Messengers. 37 (They will be told), "You will certainly suffer the painful torment 38 although you shall not be requited for aught but what you were wont to do. 39 Save single-minded slaves of Allah; 40 shall have a known provision -- 41 Fruits, and they shall be highly honored, 42 In the Gardens of delight, 43 On thrones, facing each other. 44 a cup from a spring being passed round to them, 45 Crystal-white, of a taste delicious to those who drink (thereof), 46 No headiness there shall be therein, nor shall they be therewith inebriated. 47 And with them shall be those who restrain the eyes, having beautiful eyes; 48 Like sheltered eggs in a nest. 49 They will turn to one another with questions: 50 A speaker from among them shall say: Surely I had a comrade of mine, 51 who was wont to ask [me,] 'Why - art thou really one of those who believe it to be true 52 [that] after we have died and become mere dust and bones we shall, forsooth, be brought to judgment?"' 53 He saith: Will ye look? 54 Then he will look and see him in the midst of the Fire. 55 He says, 'By God, wellnigh thou didst destroy me; 56 Had I not the guidance of my Lord, I would certainly have been brought into torment". 57 (Allah informs about that true believer that he said): "Are we then not to die (any more)? 58 Saving our former death, and are we not to be punished? 59 This will indeed be great happiness. 60 For such a reward should the workers perform. 61 Is that better as a hospitality, or the Tree of Ez-Zakkoum? 62 which We have made as a test for the wrongdoers. 63 It is a tree that grows in the nethermost part of Hell. 64 The shoots of its fruit-stalks are like the heads of Shayatin (devils); 65 They will eat from it and fill their bellies with it; 66 Then on the top of that they will be given boiling water to drink so that it becomes a mixture (of boiling water and Zaqqum in their bellies). 67 Then indeed, their return will be to the Hellfire. 68 They found their fathers in error, 69 So they (too) were rushed down on their footsteps! 70 Most of the ancient people had also gone astray. 71 But We sent aforetime, among them, (messengers) to admonish them;- 72 See how terrible was the end of those who were warned. 73 Except the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 74
