And indeed, [it was for this reason that] Noah cried unto Us - and how excellent was Our response: 75 And We delivered him and his followers from the mighty distress. 76 And We made his descendants those remaining [on the earth] 77 and We left him thus to be remembered among later generations: 78 Peace be unto Noah among the peoples! 79 As such We recompense the gooddoers, 80 Surely he was one of Our truly believing servants. 81 Afterwards We drowned the others. 82 ۞ And verily of his sect was Ibrahim. 83 When he came to his Lord with a pure heart, 84 When he said to his father and his people: What is it that you worship? 85 Would you serve false deities instead of God? 86 What do you imagine the Lord of the worlds to be?" 87 The people invited him to attend their feast). Then he looked at the stars 88 and said: “I am sick.” 89 But they went away from him, turning their backs. 90 Then he turned to their gods, and said, 'What do you eat? 91 What is amiss with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then he turned upon them, striking them with his right hand, 93 His people came rushing towards him, 94 He said: Worship ye that which ye yourselves do carve 95 and God created you and what you make?' 96 They spoke among themselves: “Build him a pyre and then throw him into the furnace.” 97 They plotted against him, but We brought humiliation upon them. 98 And he said: "I am going away to my Lord who will show me the way. 99 My Lord, grant me a righteous (son)' 100 So We gave him the good news of a boy ready to suffer and forbear. 101 And when he reached with him [the age of] exertion, he said, "O my son, indeed I have seen in a dream that I [must] sacrifice you, so see what you think." He said, "O my father, do as you are commanded. You will find me, if Allah wills, of the steadfast." 102 And when they had both submitted, and his son had laid down prostrate upon his forehead, 103 We called out to him: "O Abraham, 104 thou hast confirmed the vision; even so We recompense the good-doers. 105 Lo! that verily was a clear test. 106 And We ransomed him with a momentous sacrifice: 107 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 108 "Peace upon Abraham." 109 This is how We reward the virtuous. 110 He was one of Our believing worshipers. 111 So We gave him the good news of Isaac, apostle, who is among the righteous. 112 and blessed him and Isaac too: some of their offspring were good, but some clearly sinned against their souls. 113
