Noah cried to Us, and how excellent was Our response! 75 And We rescued him and his household from the great calamity. 76 And his offspring! them We made the survivors. 77 And left (his name) for posterity. 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the nations. 79 Thus do We reward all those who do good. 80 Verily he was of Our bondmen believing. 81 We then drowned the others. 82 ۞ And most surely Ibrahim followed his way. 83 When he came to his Lord with a sound heart 84 When he said to his father and his people: "What is this you worship? 85 Is it a falsehood-god beside Allah that ye desire? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the Worlds?" 87 And he cast a look at the stars 88 And said: "I am sick (of what you worship)!" 89 But they turned their backs on him and went away. 90 Then he turned aside to their gods secretly and said: What! do you not eat? 91 What is the matter with you that you do not speak? 92 He then began striking them with his right hand, unseen by the people. 93 His people came rushing towards him, 94 He said: 'Do you worship what you, yourselves have carved 95 And Allah has created you and what you make. 96 They said, "Construct for him a furnace and throw him into the burning fire." 97 So they contrived a plot against him, but We made them abject. 98 He said, 'I am going to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 My Lord, grant me [a child] from among the righteous." 100 Then We gave him the good tidings of a prudent boy; 101 When his son was old enough to work with him, he said, "My son, I have had a dream that I must sacrifice you. What do you think of this?" He replied, "Father, fulfill whatever you are commanded to do and you will find me patient, by the will of God". 102 But as soon as the two had surrendered themselves to [what they thought to be] the will of God, and [Abraham] had laid him down on his face, 103 And We called out to him: "O Abraham! 104 Of a surety thou hast fulfilled the vision. Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 105 Lo! that verily was a clear test. 106 Then We ransomed him with a tremendous victim. 107 And We perpetuated (praise) to him among the later generations. 108 "Peace be upon Abraham!" 109 Thus indeed do We reward those who do right. 110 He was one of Our believing servants. 111 And [in time] We gave him the glad tiding of Isaac, [who, too, would be] a prophet, one of the righteous; 112 and blessed him and Isaac too: some of their offspring were good, but some clearly sinned against their souls. 113
