Noah had verily called to Us. And how gracious was He who answered (him). 75 We saved him and his people from the great distress, 76 And We made his descendants those remaining [on the earth] 77 and We established for him a good name among posterity. 78 'Peace be upon Noah among all the worlds' 79 Lo! thus do We reward the good. 80 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 81 Afterwards We drowned the others. 82 ۞ AND, BEHOLD, of his persuasion was Abraham, too, 83 When he came to his Lord with a pure heart [attached to Allah Alone and none else, worshipping none but Allah Alone true Islamic Monotheism, pure from the filth of polytheism]. 84 and asked his father and his people, "What is that you worship? 85 Is it a calumny, gods apart from God, that you desire? 86 What then is your opinion of the Lord of the Worlds? 87 Then he looked up at the stars (they worshipped), 88 and said: 'Surely, I am sick (of what you worship)' 89 All the people turned away from him 90 Then he turned towards their gods and said: "Why do you not eat (of these offerings)? 91 What is wrong with you that you do not speak?" 92 And he turned upon them a blow with [his] right hand. 93 His people came rushing towards him, 94 He said: "Worship you that which you (yourselves) carve? 95 While Allah created you and that which you do?" 96 They replied: 'Build for him a building and cast him into the fire' 97 But whereas they sought to do evil unto him, We [frustrated their designs, and thus] brought them low? 98 And he said (after his rescue from the fire): "Verily, I am going to my Lord. He will guide me!" 99 (And he prayed:) "O Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 So We gave him the glad tidings of a forbearing boy. 101 and when he had reached the age of running with him, he said, 'My son, I see in a dream that I shall sacrifice thee; consider, what thinkest thou?' He said, 'My father, do as thou art bidden; thou shalt find me, God willing, one of the steadfast.' 102 When they submitted to the will of God, and (Abraham) laid (his son) down prostrate on his temple, 103 We called out to him: "O Abraham, 104 You have fulfilled the dream (vision)!" Verily! Thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 105 Verily that! that was a trial manifest. 106 And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice, 107 And We left for him among the posterity: 108 Peace be with Abraham. 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good. 110 Surely he was one of Our believing servants. 111 And We gave him the good news of Ishaq, a prophet among the good ones. 112 and We blessed him and Isaac: but among the offspring of these two there were [destined] to be both doers of good and such as would glaringly sin against themselves. 113
