Noah cried to Us, and how excellent was Our response! 75 We saved him and his people from great distress, 76 And, his progeny, them We made the survivors (i.e. Shem, Ham and Japheth). 77 And left (his name) for posterity. 78 Peace be with Noah among all men in the worlds. 79 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 80 he was one of Our believing worshipers. 81 Then afterwards We drowned the rest. 82 ۞ Abraham was one of his followers. 83 when he came unto his Lord with a pure heart, 84 When he said unto his father and his folk: What is it that ye worship? 85 “What! You desire, through fabrication, Gods other than Allah?” 86 What is then your idea about the Lord of the worlds? 87 He cast a glance at the stars 88 He then said, “I feel sick (of you)!” 89 So they turned away from him, and departed. 90 Then he turned to their aliha (gods) and said: "Will you not eat (of the offering before you)? 91 What aileth ye that ye speak not? 92 He then began striking them with his right hand, unseen by the people. 93 Then the people came toward him, hastening. 94 He said: "Worship ye that which ye have (yourselves) carved? 95 even though God created both you and that which you have made?" 96 They said, "Build a pyre for him and throw him into the blaze!" 97 They wanted to harm him, but We humiliated them all. 98 And he said, “Indeed I shall go to my Lord Who will guide me.” 99 My Lord! Vouchsafe me of the righteous. 100 So We gave him tidings of a gentle son. 101 And when he reached the age when he could work with him, he said, "O my son, I have seen in a dream that I am sacrificing you. So tell me what you think of it!" He replied, "O my father, do as you are commanded; and God willing, you will find me steadfast." 102 Then, when they had both surrendered (to Allah), and he had flung him down upon his face, 103 We called to him, "Abraham, 104 you have fulfilled what you were commanded to do in your dream." Thus do We reward the righteous ones. 105 This was indeed a plain trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 and left him thus to be remembered among later generations: 108 Peace be upon Ibrahim! 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good 110 Surely he was one of Our believing servants. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Is-haq, a prophet, and of the righteous. 112 and We blessed him and Isaac, and from their offspring are some gooddoers, and others who clearly wronged themselves. 113
