And assuredly Nuh cried unto us; and We are the Best of answerers! 75 And We rescued him and his family from the great distress (i.e. drowning), 76 And We made his descendants those remaining [on the earth] 77 And We let it remain upon him in the latter: 78 Peace be unto Noah among the peoples! 79 That is how We recompense the righteous: 80 for he was truly one of our believing servants: 81 Then We drowned the others. 82 ۞ Abraham was one of his followers. 83 (Remember when) he came to his Lord with a pure heart; 84 "Behold!" he said to his father and to his people, "What are these that you worship? 85 Do you want to worship false idols as your lords besides God? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the Worlds' 87 Then he glanced a glance on the stars. 88 And he said: "Verily, I am sick (with plague. He did this trick to remain in their temple of idols to destroy them and not to accompany them to the pagan's feast)." 89 But they turned their backs and went away from him. 90 Then he turned to their gods, and said: 'What do you eat? 91 What aileth ye that ye speak not? 92 Then he attacked them, striking with his right hand. 93 So the people descended upon him. 94 He said: Worship ye that which ye yourselves do carve 95 the while it is God who has created you and all your handiwork?" 96 They said: "Build for him a building (it is said that the building was like a furnace) and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 But whereas they sought to do evil unto him, We [frustrated their designs, and thus] brought them low? 98 And he said (after his rescue from the fire): "Verily, I am going to my Lord. He will guide me!" 99 (And he prayed:) "O Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 We gave him the good news that he would have a patient, forbearing son. 101 And when he became capable of working with him, Ibrahim said, “O my son, I dreamt that I am sacrificing you – therefore now consider what is your opinion”; he said, “O my father! Do what you are commanded! Allah willing, you will soon find me patiently enduring!” 102 When they submitted to the will of God, and (Abraham) laid (his son) down prostrate on his temple, 103 We called out to him: "O Abraham, 104 Thou hast already fulfilled the vision. Lo! thus do We reward the good. 105 Verily that! that was a trial manifest. 106 So, We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 and left for him among the later folk 108 Peace be unto Ibrahim: 109 As such We recompense the gooddoers. 110 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 111 We gave him the glad news of the birth of Isaac, one of the righteous Prophets. 112 And We blessed him and Is-haq; and of their offspring are some well-doers and some who wrong themselves manifestly. 113
