3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
Noah cried to Us, and how excellent was Our response! 75 And We delivered him and his people from the Great Calamity, 76 And made his progeny to endure (on this earth); 77 and We established for him a good name among posterity. 78 'Peace be upon Noah among all beings!' 79 Verily, thus We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 80 he was one of Our believing worshipers. 81 We drowned the rest. 82 ۞ Abraham was one of his followers. 83 Recall what time he came unto his Lord with a heart whole. 84 and said to his father and his people: “Whom do you worship? 85 It is falsehood that you desire gods other than Allah! 86 What do you think of the Lord of the Worlds?" 87 He looked up at the stars. 88 And said, "I am sick," 89 so they turned their backs on him and went off. 90 Then he slipped unto their gods and said: eat ye not? 91 "What is the matter with you that ye speak not (intelligently)?" 92 He then began striking them with his right hand, unseen by the people. 93 Then they (the worshippers of idols) came, towards him, hastening. 94 He said: "Worship you that which you (yourselves) carve? 95 when it is Allah who created you and all that you do' 96 They exclaimed: "Build a pyre for him, and cast him into the blazing fire!" 97 Their desire was to outwit him, but We made them to be the humiliated. 98 And he said: "I am going away to my Lord who will show me the way. 99 My Lord, grant me a righteous (son)' 100 whereupon We gave him the glad tiding of a boy-child gentle [like himself]? 101 When he was old enough to go about with him, he said: "O my son, I dreamt that I was sacrificing you. Consider, what you think?" He replied: "Father, do as you are commanded. If God pleases you will find me firm." 102 When they both agreed and Abraham had lain down his son on the side of his face (for slaughtering), 103 We cried out: “O Abraham, 104 "Thou hast already fulfilled the vision!" - thus indeed do We reward those who do right. 105 for, behold, all this was indeed a trial, clear in itself. 106 Then We ransomed him with a tremendous victim. 107 And We left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 108 Peace be unto Abraham! 109 As such We recompense the gooddoers. 110 Verily he was one of Our believing bondmen. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Is-haq, a prophet, and of the righteous. 112 We had blessed him and Isaac. Some of their offspring were righteous and others were openly unjust to themselves. 113
