3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
And Nuh did certainly call upon Us, and most excellent answerer of prayer are We. 75 And We delivered him and his people from the great distress, 76 and We made his offspring the survivors. 77 We perpetuated his praise in later generations. 78 "Peace be upon Noah throughout all the worlds!" 79 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 80 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. 81 [and so We saved him and those who followed him] and then We caused the others to drown. 82 ۞ AND, BEHOLD, of his persuasion was Abraham, too, 83 Recall what time he came unto his Lord with a heart whole. 84 When he said to his father and his people: "What is this you worship? 85 "Is it a falsehood- gods other than Allah- that ye desire? 86 “So what do you assume regarding the Lord Of The Creation?” (That He will not punish you?) 87 Then he cast a glance at the stars, 88 And he said: "Verily, I am sick (with plague. He did this trick to remain in their temple of idols to destroy them and not to accompany them to the pagan's feast)." 89 so they turned their backs on him and went off. 90 Then he slipped unto their gods and said: eat ye not? 91 What aileth you that ye speak not? 92 Then did he turn upon them, striking (them) with the right hand. 93 Then the people came toward him, hastening. 94 He answered: "Do you worship something that you [yourselves] have carved, 95 the while it is God who has created you and all your handiwork?" 96 They said: "Build for him a building (it is said that the building was like a furnace) and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 But whereas they sought to do evil unto him, We [frustrated their designs, and thus] brought them low? 98 He said: "I will go to my Lord! He will surely guide me! 99 Lord, grant me a righteous son.” 100 whereupon We gave him the glad tiding of a boy-child gentle [like himself]? 101 and when he was old enough to go about and work with him, (one day) Abraham said to him: “My son, I see in my dream that I am slaughtering you. So consider (and tell me) what you think.” He said: “Do as you are bidden. You will find me, if Allah so wills, among the steadfast.” 102 Then when the twain had submitted themselves and he had prostrated him upon his temple. 103 We cried unto him: O Ibrahim 104 Of a surety thou hast fulfilled the vision. Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 105 That was indeed a trying test. 106 And We rescued him in exchange of a great sacrifice. (The sacrifice of Ibrahim and Ismail peace be upon them is commemorated every year on 10, 11 and 12 Zil Haj). 107 And We left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 108 "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" 109 Thus indeed do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 110 truly, he was one of Our faithful servants. 111 Then, We gave him the glad tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous, 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. And of their seed are some who do good, and some who plainly wrong themselves. 113
