3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
Noah had called upon Us (earlier). See, how excellent We were in answering him! 75 And We rescued him and his household from the great calamity. 76 and We made his offspring the survivors. 77 And left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 78 Peace and salutation to Nuh among the nations. 79 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 80 Surely he was one of Our truly believing servants. 81 We then drowned the others. 82 ۞ Abraham was one of his followers. 83 When he came to his Lord with a pure heart [attached to Allah Alone and none else, worshipping none but Allah Alone true Islamic Monotheism, pure from the filth of polytheism]. 84 When he said unto his father and his folk: What is it that ye worship? 85 Is it a calumny, gods apart from God, that you desire? 86 "Then what is your idea about the Lord of the worlds?" 87 He then shot a glance at the stars. 88 and said: 'Surely, I am sick (of what you worship)' 89 And they turned their backs on him and went away. (The pagans thought he would transmit the disease). 90 Thereupon he approached their gods stealthily and said, "What! You do not eat [of the offerings placed before you]? 91 What is the matter with you that you do not speak?" 92 He struck them with his right hand. 93 So the disbelievers came running towards him. 94 Said he: What! do you worship what you hew out? 95 when it is God who has created you and all your handiwork?" 96 They replied: 'Build for him a building and cast him into the fire' 97 So they plotted a plot against him, but We made them the lowest. 98 (Abraham) said, "I will go to my Lord who will guide me". 99 "My Lord! Grant me (offspring) from the righteous." 100 So We gave him the glad tidings of a forbearing boy. 101 And, when he (his son) was old enough to walk with him, he said: "O my son! I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering you (offer you in sacrifice to Allah), so look what you think!" He said: "O my father! Do that which you are commanded, Insha' Allah (if Allah will), you shall find me of As-Sabirin (the patient ones, etc.)." 102 Then when the twain had submitted themselves and he had prostrated him upon his temple. 103 We called out to him: "O Abraham, 104 you have indeed fulfilled your dream. Thus do We reward the good-doers.” 105 That was indeed a trying test. 106 And We rescued him in exchange of a great sacrifice. (The sacrifice of Ibrahim and Ismail peace be upon them is commemorated every year on 10, 11 and 12 Zil Haj). 107 and left him thus to be remembered among later generations: 108 Peace be unto Ibrahim: 109 This is how We reward the virtuous. 110 He was one of Our believing worshipers. 111 And We gave him the good news of Isaac, a Prophet and among the righteous ones. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. But among their descendants is the doer of good and the clearly unjust to himself. 113
