3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
And Noah verily prayed unto Us, and gracious was the Hearer of his prayer 75 And We saved him and his household from the great distress, 76 And, his progeny, them We made the survivors (i.e. Shem, Ham and Japheth). 77 We perpetuated his praise in later generations. 78 "Peace upon Noah among the worlds." 79 That is how We reward those who do good. 80 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 81 We drowned the rest. 82 ۞ Abraham was on the self-same way (as Noah). 83 When he came to his Lord, with a sound heart. (Free from falsehood). 84 [And] when he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship? 85 Is it a calumny, gods apart from God, that you desire? 86 "Then what do you think about the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns, and all that exists)?" 87 Then did he cast a glance at the Stars. 88 Then said: Lo! I feel sick! 89 So they turned away from him, and departed. 90 and he turned to their idols and asked them, "Do you eat? 91 What aileth ye that ye speak not? 92 He then began striking them with his right hand, unseen by the people. 93 Then they advanced toward him, hastening. 94 He said, "How can you worship what you yourselves have carved 95 when it is Allah who created you and all that you do' 96 They said, "Build a pyre for him and throw him into the blaze!" 97 They wanted to harm him, but We humiliated them all. 98 And he said: Lo! I am going unto my Lord Who will guide me. 99 (And he prayed:) "O Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 So We gave him the good news of a boy ready to suffer and forbear. 101 and when he had reached the age of running with him, he said, 'My son, I see in a dream that I shall sacrifice thee; consider, what thinkest thou?' He said, 'My father, do as thou art bidden; thou shalt find me, God willing, one of the steadfast.' 102 When they had surrendered, and he flung him upon his brow, 103 And We called out to him, “O Ibrahim!” 104 Of a surety thou hast fulfilled the vision. Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 105 That was indeed a trying test. 106 We ransomed him with a great sacrifice, 107 And We left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 108 "Peace upon Abraham." 109 Verily We! thus We compense the well-doers. 110 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. 111 We gave Abraham the good news of Isaac, a prophet and a righteous man, 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. Among their descendants are some who do good, but some who wrong themselves. 113
