And indeed, [it was for this reason that] Noah cried unto Us - and how excellent was Our response: 75 We saved him and his family from the great affliction, 76 and We made his offspring the survivors. 77 And We left (this blessing) for him among generations to come in later times: 78 Salamun (peace) be upon Nuh (Noah) (from Us) among the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)!" 79 Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 80 he was truly one of Our faithful servants. 81 Thereafter We caused the others to be drowned. 82 ۞ And lo! of his persuasion verily was Abraham 83 He turned to his Lord with a sound heart 84 When he said to his father and his people: "What is this you worship? 85 Is it falsehood [as] gods other than Allah you desire? 86 "Then what is your idea about the Lord of the worlds?" 87 Then he cast a glance at the stars (to deceive them), 88 and said: 'Surely, I am sick (of what you worship)' 89 So they turned away from him, and departed. 90 Then he turned towards their gods and said: "Why do you not eat (of these offerings)? 91 What is the matter with you, that you do not speak' 92 He then began striking them with his right hand, unseen by the people. 93 Then came (the worshippers) with hurried steps, and faced (him). 94 Said he: What! do you worship what you hew out? 95 when it is Allah who created you and all that you do' 96 They said, “Construct a building (furnace) for him, and then cast him in the blazing fire!” 97 And they desired a war against him, but We brought them low. 98 And he said: Surely I fly to my lord; He will guide me. 99 Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 (In response to this prayer) We gave him the good news of a prudent boy; 101 and when he was old enough to go about and work with him, (one day) Abraham said to him: “My son, I see in my dream that I am slaughtering you. So consider (and tell me) what you think.” He said: “Do as you are bidden. You will find me, if Allah so wills, among the steadfast.” 102 When they had surrendered, and he flung him upon his brow, 103 And We called out to him saying: O Ibrahim! 104 “You have indeed made the dream come true”; and this is how We reward the virtuous. 105 Indeed, this was the clear trial. 106 Then We ransomed him with a tremendous victim. 107 and We preserved for him a good name among posterity. 108 'Peace be upon Abraham' 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good 110 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishaque (Isaac) a Prophet from the righteous. 112 And We showered Our blessings on him and on Ishaq; and of their offspring are the doers of good, and (also) those who are clearly unjust to their own souls. 113
