3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
Noah cried to Us, and how excellent was Our response! 75 We saved him and his people from the great distress, 76 And made his progeny to endure (on this earth); 77 And We perpetuated to him (praise) among the later generations. 78 Peace be on Nuh among the worlds. 79 That is how We reward those who do good. 80 for he was truly one of our believing servants: 81 Thereafter We caused the others to be drowned. 82 ۞ And indeed, among his kind was Abraham, 83 He turned to his Lord with a sound heart 84 Behold! he said to his father and to his people, "What is that which ye worship? 85 It is falsehood that you desire gods other than Allah! 86 What do you think of the Lord of the Worlds?" 87 Then he cast a glance at the stars (to deceive them), 88 and he said, 'Surely I am sick.' 89 and at that they turned their backs on him and went away. 90 Then he turned towards their gods and said: "Why do you not eat (of these offerings)? 91 “What is the matter with you, that you do not say anything?” 92 then he turned on them, striking them down with his right hand. 93 [But] then the others came towards him hurriedly [and accused him of his deed]. 94 He said, "Do you worship that which you [yourselves] carve, 95 And Allah has created you and what you make. 96 "Build a pyre for him and throw him into the raging fire." 97 But whereas they sought to do evil unto him, We [frustrated their designs, and thus] brought them low? 98 And he said: Surely I fly to my lord; He will guide me. 99 My Lord, give me one of the righteous.' 100 (In response to this prayer) We gave him the good news of a prudent boy; 101 And when he reached the age when he could work with him, he said, "O my son, I have seen in a dream that I am sacrificing you. So tell me what you think of it!" He replied, "O my father, do as you are commanded; and God willing, you will find me steadfast." 102 And when they had both submitted and he put him down upon his forehead, 103 We called out: "O Abraham, 104 you have confirmed your vision' As such We recompense the gooddoers. 105 Indeed, this was the clear trial. 106 Then We ransomed him with a tremendous victim. 107 and We preserved for him a good name among posterity. 108 'Peace be upon Abraham!' 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good. 110 Verily, he was one of Our believing slaves. 111 Then, We gave him the glad tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous, 112 And We blessed him, and Isaac; and of their seed some are good-doers, and some manifest self-wrongers. 113
