And indeed Nuh (Noah) invoked Us, and We are the Best of those who answer (the request). 75 We rescued him and his people from the greatest affliction 76 and made his offspring the only ones to survive, 77 and We left him thus to be remembered among later generations: 78 Peace be unto Noah among the peoples! 79 That is how We reward those who do good. 80 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 81 We drowned all the others (besides Noah and his people). 82 ۞ Of his party was Abraham. 83 when he came unto his Lord with a pure heart, 84 and asked his father and his people, "What is that you worship? 85 Do you want to worship false idols as your lords besides God? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the whole Universe?” 87 Then he glanced a glance on the stars. 88 and said, "I am sick!" 89 So they turned away from him, and departed (for fear of the disease). 90 He turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? 91 What is the matter with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then he slipped unto them striking them with the right hand. 93 Then came the others to him hastening. 94 He said: "Worship ye that which ye have (yourselves) carved? 95 And Allah has created you and what you make. 96 They said, "Build a pyre for him and throw him into the blaze!" 97 So they plotted a plot against him, but We made them the lowest. 98 And he said, “Indeed I shall go to my Lord Who will guide me.” 99 (And he prayed:) "O Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 So We gave him the good news of a clement son. 101 And when (his son) was old enough to walk with him, (Abraham) said: O my dear son, I have seen in a dream that I must sacrifice thee. So look, what thinkest thou? He said: O my father! Do that which thou art commanded. Allah willing, thou shalt find me of the steadfast. 102 And when they had both submitted and he put him down upon his forehead, 103 We called out to him "O Abraham! 104 you have confirmed your vision' As such We recompense the gooddoers. 105 For this was obviously a trial- 106 So, We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 and We preserved for him a good name among posterity. 108 Salamun (peace) be upon Ibrahim (Abraham)!" 109 Thus do We reward the good. 110 He was one of Our believing worshipers. 111 And we gave him tidings of the birth of Isaac, a prophet of the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. But among their descendants is the doer of good and the clearly unjust to himself. 113
