3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
Noah cried to Us, and how excellent was Our response! 75 And We delivered him and his people from the great affliction. 76 and We made his seed the survivors, 77 We left mention of him among later generations. 78 'Peace be upon Noah among all beings!' 79 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 80 For he was one of our believing Servants. 81 [and so We saved him and those who followed him] and then We caused the others to drown. 82 ۞ And indeed, among his kind was Abraham, 83 When he came to his Lord, with a sound heart. (Free from falsehood). 84 "Behold!" he said to his father and to his people, "What are these that you worship? 85 Is it a falsehood - gods beside Allah - that ye desire? 86 Then what is your thought about the Lord of the worlds?" 87 Then did he cast a glance at the Stars. 88 Then he said: Surely I am sick (of your worshipping these). 89 And they turned their backs on him and went away. (The pagans thought he would transmit the disease). 90 Then did he turn to their gods and said, "will ye not eat (of the offerings before you)?... 91 What is the matter with you, that you do not speak' 92 And he turned upon them a blow with [his] right hand. 93 Thereupon the people came running to him. 94 He said: "Worship you that which you (yourselves) carve? 95 "When God has created you and what you make?" 96 They said, "Construct for him a furnace and throw him into the burning fire." 97 And they desired a war against him, but We brought them low. 98 He said: 'I will go to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 [And he prayed:] "O my Sustainer! Bestow upon me the gift of [a son who shall be] one of the righteous!" 100 whereupon We gave him the glad tiding of a boy-child gentle [like himself]? 101 And when he attained the age of running with him, he said: O my son! verily I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering thee; so look, what considerest thou? He said: O my father! do that which thou art commanded; thou shalt find me, Allah willing, of the patients. 102 But as soon as the two had surrendered themselves to [what they thought to be] the will of God, and [Abraham] had laid him down on his face, 103 We called to him, saying: 'O Abraham, 104 thou hast already fulfilled [the purpose of] that dream-vision!" Thus, verily, do We reward the doers of good: 105 That was indeed a trying test. 106 We ransomed him with a great sacrifice, 107 And left (his hallowed memory) for posterity. 108 Salamun (peace) be upon Ibrahim (Abraham)!" 109 Thus do We reward the good. 110 Verily he was one of Our believing bondmen. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishaque (Isaac) a Prophet from the righteous. 112 and We blessed him and Isaac: but among the offspring of these two there were [destined] to be both doers of good and such as would glaringly sin against themselves. 113
