And Noah verily prayed unto Us, and gracious was the Hearer of his prayer 75 And We delivered him and his people from the Great Calamity, 76 And We preserved his descendants. 77 And We left for him among the posterity. 78 "Peace and salutation to Noah among the nations!" 79 Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 80 Surely he was among Our faithful creatures. 81 Afterwards We drowned the others. 82 ۞ And verily of his sect was Ibrahim. 83 he came to his Lord with a sound heart. 84 and said to his father and his people: “Whom do you worship? 85 Is it a falsehood-god beside Allah that ye desire? 86 What do you imagine the Lord of the worlds to be?" 87 Then he looked at the stars, looking up once, 88 and said, "Verily, I am sick [at heart]!" 89 All the people turned away from him 90 Then he turned to their gods, and said, 'What do you eat? 91 What aileth you that ye speak not? 92 then he turned on them, striking them down with his right hand. 93 So the disbelievers came running towards him. 94 but he said, "How can you worship things you carve with your own hands, 95 Whereas Allah hath created you and that which ye make? 96 They said: "Build for him a building (it is said that the building was like a furnace) and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 And they desired a war against him, but We brought them low. 98 And he said: verily I am going to my Lord who will guide me. 99 "My Lord! Grant me (offspring) from the righteous." 100 We gave him the glad news of the birth of a forbearing son. 101 When he was old enough to go about with him, he said: "O my son, I dreamt that I was sacrificing you. Consider, what you think?" He replied: "Father, do as you are commanded. If God pleases you will find me firm." 102 When they had both submitted to God, and he had laid his son down on his face, 103 We called to him, saying: 'O Abraham, 104 You have fulfilled your dream." Thus do We reward the good. 105 Indeed, this was the clear trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a momentous sacrifice: 107 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 108 'Peace be upon Abraham!' 109 Verily We! thus We compense the well-doers. 110 Verily, he was one of Our believing slaves. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Is-haq, a prophet, and of the righteous. 112 And We showered Our blessings on him and on Ishaq; and of their offspring are the doers of good, and (also) those who are clearly unjust to their own souls. 113
