3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
And indeed Nuh (Noah) invoked Us, and We are the Best of those who answer (the request). 75 And We saved him and his family from the great affliction. 76 and We made his seed the survivors, 77 And left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the peoples! 79 That is how We recompense the righteous: 80 Verily he was of Our bondmen believing. 81 Then We did drown the others. 82 ۞ Abraham was on the self-same way (as Noah). 83 Recall what time he came unto his Lord with a heart whole. 84 When he said to his father and his people: "What is this you worship? 85 Do you want [to bow down before] a lie - [before] deities other than God? 86 What do you think about the Lord of the Universe?" 87 And he glanced a glance at the stars 88 and said: “I am sick.” 89 And they turned their backs and went away from him. 90 Then he turned aside to their gods secretly and said: What! do you not eat? 91 "What is the matter with you that ye speak not (intelligently)?" 92 Then did he turn upon them, striking (them) with the right hand. 93 whereupon people came to him running. 94 He said: "Worship you that which you (yourselves) carve? 95 "But Allah has created you and your handwork!" 96 They said: Build for him a building and fling him in the red-hotfire. 97 And they devised a plot for him, but We made them the humble. 98 (Abraham) said, "I will go to my Lord who will guide me". 99 My Lord, give me one of the righteous.' 100 (In response to this prayer) We gave him the good news of a prudent boy; 101 And when he attained to working with him, he said: O my son! surely I have seen in a dream that I should sacrifice you; consider then what you see. He said: O my father! do what you are commanded; if Allah please, you will find me of the patient ones. 102 And when they had both submitted, and his son had laid down prostrate upon his forehead, 103 And We called out to him saying: O Ibrahim! 104 Thou hast already fulfilled the vision. Lo! thus do We reward the good. 105 for, behold, all this was indeed a trial, clear in itself. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 and left him thus to be remembered among later generations: 108 Salamun (peace) be upon Ibrahim (Abraham)!" 109 Thus indeed do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 110 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. 111 Then We gave him the good tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous. 112 and We blessed him and Isaac: but among the offspring of these two there were [destined] to be both doers of good and such as would glaringly sin against themselves. 113
