Noah cried to Us, and how excellent was Our response! 75 And We saved him and his family from the great affliction. 76 And, his progeny, them We made the survivors (i.e. Shem, Ham and Japheth). 77 And We let it remain upon him in the latter: 78 Peace be upon Nooh, among the entire people. 79 Verily, thus do We reward the doers of good 80 Surely he was among Our faithful creatures. 81 We drowned all the others (besides Noah and his people). 82 ۞ Abraham was one of his followers. 83 he came to his Lord with a sound heart. 84 "Behold!" he said to his father and to his people, "What are these that you worship? 85 It is falsehood that you desire gods other than Allah! 86 What do you think of the Lord of the whole Universe?” 87 Then he looked carefully at the stars 88 and said, "I am sick!" 89 So they turned away from him, departing. 90 Then he turned towards their gods and said: "Why do you not eat (of these offerings)? 91 What is the matter with you, why do you not speak?” 92 Then did he turn upon them, striking (them) with the right hand. 93 Then came (the worshippers) with hurried steps, and faced (him). 94 but he said, "How can you worship things you carve with your own hands, 95 and God created you and what you make?' 96 They said: "Build for him a building (it is said that the building was like a furnace) and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 But whereas they sought to do evil unto him, We [frustrated their designs, and thus] brought them low? 98 And [Abraham] said: "Verily, I shall [leave this land and] go wherever my Sustainer will guide me!" 99 "My Lord! Grant me (offspring) from the righteous." 100 So We gave him tidings of a gentle son. 101 And when he became capable of working with him, Ibrahim said, “O my son, I dreamt that I am sacrificing you – therefore now consider what is your opinion”; he said, “O my father! Do what you are commanded! Allah willing, you will soon find me patiently enduring!” 102 When they submitted to the will of God, and (Abraham) laid (his son) down prostrate on his temple, 103 We cried unto him: O Ibrahim 104 You have fulfilled the vision." Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 105 This is indeed the manifest trial.' 106 And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice (i.e. a ram); 107 And We left for him (a goodly remembrance) among generations (to come) in later times. 108 'Peace be upon Abraham' 109 Thus indeed do We reward those who do right. 110 He is truly among Our faithful creatures. 111 And We gave him the good news of Ishaq, a prophet among the good ones. 112 We blessed him and Isaac: but of their progeny are (some) that do right, and (some) that obviously do wrong, to their own souls. 113
