Noah called for help. How blessed was the answer which he received. 75 We saved him and his family from the great affliction, 76 And his offspring! them We made the survivors. 77 We perpetuated his praise in later generations. 78 Peace be upon Nooh, among the entire people. 79 This is how We reward the virtuous. 80 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. 81 Afterwards We drowned the others. 82 ۞ And indeed, among his kind was Abraham, 83 Behold! he approached his Lord with a sound heart. 84 When he said to his father (paternal uncle) and his people, “What do you worship?” 85 Do you want to worship false idols as your lords besides God? 86 what, then, is your opinion of the Lord of the worlds? 87 He cast a glance at the stars 88 And said: "I am sick (of what you worship)!" 89 and at that they turned their backs on him and went away. 90 Then he went quietly to the (temple of the deities) and said: “What is the matter with you, why do you not eat? 91 What is the matter with you that you do not speak?" 92 then he turned on them, striking them down with his right hand. 93 Then came (the worshippers) with hurried steps, and faced (him). 94 He answered: "Do you worship something that you [yourselves] have carved, 95 "But Allah has created you and your handwork!" 96 They said, 'Build him a building, and cast him into the furnace!' 97 Their desire was to outwit him, but We made them to be the humiliated. 98 And he said: "I am going away to my Lord who will show me the way. 99 [And he prayed:] "O my Sustainer! Bestow upon me the gift of [a son who shall be] one of the righteous!" 100 And We gave him the glad tidings of a very gentle son (Ishmael). 101 And when he reached the age when he could work with him, he said, "O my son, I have seen in a dream that I am sacrificing you. So tell me what you think of it!" He replied, "O my father, do as you are commanded; and God willing, you will find me steadfast." 102 And when they had both submitted, and his son had laid down prostrate upon his forehead, 103 We called unto him, 'Abraham, 104 thou hast confirmed the vision; even so We recompense the good-doers. 105 This was indeed a plain trial. 106 We ransomed his son with a great sacrifice 107 and left him thus to be succeeded by a group [of followers] among later generations: 108 "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" 109 Thus do We reward the good. 110 For he was one of our believing Servants. 111 And We gave him the good news of Isaac, a Prophet and among the righteous ones. 112 and We blessed him and Isaac: but among the offspring of these two there were [destined] to be both doers of good and such as would glaringly sin against themselves. 113
