3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
Noah had called upon Us (earlier). See, how excellent We were in answering him! 75 And We delivered him and his people from the Great Calamity, 76 and We made his offspring the only survivors. 77 And We let it remain upon him in the latter: 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the nations. 79 That is how We recompense the righteous: 80 he was among Our believing servants. 81 Then We did drown the others. 82 ۞ Abraham was one of his followers. 83 When he came to his Lord with a pure heart [attached to Allah Alone and none else, worshipping none but Allah Alone true Islamic Monotheism, pure from the filth of polytheism]. 84 When he said to his father and his people: What is it that you worship? 85 "Is it a falsehood- gods other than Allah- that ye desire? 86 Then what is your thought about the Lord of the worlds?" 87 And he cast a glance at the stars, 88 And said, "I am sick," 89 But they went away from him, turning their backs. 90 Then did he turn to their gods and said, "will ye not eat (of the offerings before you)?... 91 "What is the matter with you that you speak not?" 92 And then he fell upon them, smiting them with his right hand. 93 Then came (the worshippers) with hurried steps, and faced (him). 94 He said, "Do you worship that which you [yourselves] carve, 95 And Allah has created you and what you make. 96 They exclaimed: "Build a pyre for him, and cast him into the blazing fire!" 97 Their desire was to outwit him, but We made them to be the humiliated. 98 He said: "I will go to my Lord! He will surely guide me! 99 Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 So We gave him good tidings of a forbearing boy. 101 And when he reached with him [the age of] exertion, he said, "O my son, indeed I have seen in a dream that I [must] sacrifice you, so see what you think." He said, "O my father, do as you are commanded. You will find me, if Allah wills, of the steadfast." 102 When they had both submitted to God, and he had laid his son down on his face, 103 We cried unto him: O Ibrahim 104 Thou hast already fulfilled the vision. Lo! thus do We reward the good. 105 That was indeed a clear trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a tremendous sacrifice, 107 And We left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 108 Salamun (peace) be upon Ibrahim (Abraham)!" 109 Thus indeed do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 110 Surely he was one of Our believing servants. 111 And [in time] We gave him the glad tiding of Isaac, [who, too, would be] a prophet, one of the righteous; 112 We blessed him and Ishaque (Isaac), and of their progeny are (some) that do right, and some that plainly wrong themselves. 113
