3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
Noah called for help. How blessed was the answer which he received. 75 We saved him and his family from the great affliction, 76 And made his seed the survivors, 77 And left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 78 Peace and salutation to Nuh among the nations. 79 Thus indeed do we reward those who do right. 80 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 81 Then afterwards We drowned the rest. 82 ۞ And Abraham indeed was of his inducement, 83 Recall what time he came unto his Lord with a heart whole. 84 Recall what time he said unto his father and his people: What is it that ye worship? 85 Do you want [to bow down before] a lie - [before] deities other than God? 86 what, then, is your opinion of the Lord of the worlds? 87 He looked up at the stars. 88 And said, "I am sick," 89 So they went away from him, turning back. 90 Then he went quietly to the (temple of the deities) and said: “What is the matter with you, why do you not eat? 91 What is amiss with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then did he turn upon them, striking (them) with the right hand. 93 Then they advanced toward him, hastening. 94 "Why do you worship these you carve yourselves," he asked, 95 And Allah has created you and what you make. 96 They said: Build for him a building and fling him in the red-hotfire. 97 But whereas they sought to do evil unto him, We [frustrated their designs, and thus] brought them low? 98 And he said: "I am going away to my Lord who will show me the way. 99 Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 So We gave him tidings of a gentle son. 101 and when he was old enough to go about and work with him, (one day) Abraham said to him: “My son, I see in my dream that I am slaughtering you. So consider (and tell me) what you think.” He said: “Do as you are bidden. You will find me, if Allah so wills, among the steadfast.” 102 So when they both submitted and he threw him down upon his forehead, 103 We cried out: “O Abraham, 104 Thou hast already fulfilled the vision. Lo! thus do We reward the good. 105 Verily, that indeed was a manifest trial 106 And We ransomed him with a tremendous sacrifice, 107 And We left for him among the posterity: 108 Peace be upon Ibrahim! 109 Verily We! thus We compense the well-doers. 110 Verily he was one of Our believing bondmen. 111 And We gave him good tidings of Isaac, a prophet from among the righteous. 112 We blessed him and Ishaque (Isaac), and of their progeny are (some) that do right, and some that plainly wrong themselves. 113
