And Nuh did certainly call upon Us, and most excellent answerer of prayer are We. 75 We saved him and his people from great distress, 76 and We made his seed the survivors, 77 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 78 "Peace upon Noah among the worlds." 79 Thus do We reward the righteous ones. 80 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. 81 We drowned the rest. 82 ۞ And indeed, among his kind was Abraham, 83 When he came unto his Lord with a whole heart; 84 When he said to his father and to his people: "What is it that which you worship? 85 Do you want [to bow down before] a lie - [before] deities other than God? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the whole Universe?” 87 And he cast a look at the stars 88 and said, "Verily, I am sick [at heart]!" 89 All the people turned away from him 90 Then he went quietly to the (temple of the deities) and said: “What is the matter with you, why do you not eat? 91 What is [wrong] with you that you do not speak?" 92 He then began striking them with his right hand, unseen by the people. 93 Then they (the worshippers of idols) came, towards him, hastening. 94 but he said, "How can you worship things you carve with your own hands, 95 While Allah created you and that which you do?" 96 They said: "Build for him a building (it is said that the building was like a furnace) and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 They wanted to harm him, but We humiliated them all. 98 (Abraham) said, "I will go to my Lord who will guide me". 99 My Lord! Vouchsafe me of the righteous. 100 So We gave him the good news of a clement son. 101 And when (his son) was old enough to walk with him, (Abraham) said: O my dear son, I have seen in a dream that I must sacrifice thee. So look, what thinkest thou? He said: O my father! Do that which thou art commanded. Allah willing, thou shalt find me of the steadfast. 102 When they had surrendered, and he flung him upon his brow, 103 We called to him, "O Abraham, 104 “You have indeed made the dream come true”; and this is how We reward the virtuous. 105 That was indeed a trying test. 106 And We ransomed him with a Feat sacrifice. 107 And We left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 108 "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" 109 This is how We reward the virtuous. 110 Verily he was one of Our believing bondmen. 111 Then We gave him the good tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. But among their descendants is the doer of good and the clearly unjust to himself. 113
