Noah had verily called to Us. And how gracious was He who answered (him). 75 And We delivered him and his followers from the mighty distress. 76 And his offspring! them We made the survivors. 77 and We established for him a good name among posterity. 78 "Peace upon Noah among the worlds." 79 Verily, thus We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 80 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. 81 We then drowned the others. 82 ۞ And, verily, among those who followed his [Nuh's (Noah)] way (Islamic Monotheism) was Ibrahim (Abraham). 83 When he came to his Lord with a heart compliant, 84 [And] when he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship? 85 “What! You desire, through fabrication, Gods other than Allah?” 86 What then is your opinion of the Lord of the Worlds? 87 Then he cast a glance at the stars, 88 And he said: verily I am about to be sick. 89 So turning their backs, they went away from him. 90 Then did he turn to their gods and said, "will ye not eat (of the offerings before you)?... 91 What is the matter with you, that you do not speak' 92 Then he turned upon them, striking them with his right hand, 93 Thereafter they (the people) came to him in haste. 94 He said: worship ye that which ye carve. 95 even though God created both you and that which you have made?" 96 They exclaimed: "Build a pyre for him, and cast him into the blazing fire!" 97 They plotted against him, but We brought humiliation upon them. 98 And he said (after his rescue from the fire): "Verily, I am going to my Lord. He will guide me!" 99 "My Lord! Grant me (offspring) from the righteous." 100 whereupon We gave him the glad tiding of a boy-child gentle [like himself]? 101 And when he attained to working with him, he said: O my son! surely I have seen in a dream that I should sacrifice you; consider then what you see. He said: O my father! do what you are commanded; if Allah please, you will find me of the patient ones. 102 So when they had both submitted their wills (to Allah), and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (for sacrifice), 103 We called to him, "Abraham, 104 Of a surety thou hast fulfilled the vision. Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 105 for, behold, all this was indeed a trial, clear in itself. 106 And We ransomed him with a momentous sacrifice: 107 And We left for him (a goodly remembrance) among generations (to come) in later times. 108 Peace be on Abraham. 109 Thus do We reward the good. 110 for he was truly one of our believing servants. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishaq, a Herald of the Hidden, from among those who deserve Our proximity. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. Among their descendants are some who do good, but some who wrong themselves. 113
