And Noah had certainly called Us, and [We are] the best of responders. 75 We rescued him and his people from the greatest affliction 76 And made his progeny survive, 77 And left for him (a goodly remembrance) among generations to come in later times: 78 Peace on Noah among all men. 79 Thus do We reward the righteous ones. 80 he was among Our believing servants. 81 We then drowned the others. 82 ۞ AND, BEHOLD, of his persuasion was Abraham, too, 83 When he came to his Lord with a heart compliant, 84 and asked his father and his people, "What is that you worship? 85 Is it a falsehood-god beside Allah that ye desire? 86 What do you think about the Lord of the Universe?" 87 And he cast a glance at the stars, 88 and said, "Verily, I am sick [at heart]!" 89 All the people turned away from him 90 Then he turned to their gods, and said, 'What do you eat? 91 What is wrong with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then he started striking them down with his right hand. 93 So the people descended upon him. 94 He said: Worship ye that which ye yourselves do carve 95 While Allah created you and that which you do?" 96 They said, 'Build him a building, and cast him into the furnace!' 97 And they desired a war against him, but We brought them low. 98 And he said, “Indeed I shall go to my Lord Who will guide me.” 99 My Lord! grant me of the doers of good deeds. 100 So We gave him tidings of a gentle son. 101 and when he had reached the age of running with him, he said, 'My son, I see in a dream that I shall sacrifice thee; consider, what thinkest thou?' He said, 'My father, do as thou art bidden; thou shalt find me, God willing, one of the steadfast.' 102 Then, when they had both surrendered (to Allah), and he had flung him down upon his face, 103 We called out to him: "O Abraham, 104 Thou hast already fulfilled the vision. Lo! thus do We reward the good. 105 Indeed this was a clear test. 106 So, We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 and We let it (the beautiful praise) remain upon him in the latter (generations), 108 "Peace be upon Abraham!" 109 Thus, do We reward the righteous ones. 110 Surely he was one of Our believing servants. 111 Then, We gave him the glad tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous, 112 And We blessed him and Is-haq; and of their offspring are some well-doers and some who wrong themselves manifestly. 113
