Noah called to Us; and how excellent were the Answerers! 75 And We delivered him and his followers from the mighty distress. 76 And his offspring! them We made the survivors. 77 And left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the peoples! 79 Lo! thus do We reward the good. 80 Verily, he [Nuh (Noah)] was one of Our believing slaves. 81 Then We drowned the others 82 ۞ Abraham was of the same faith: 83 When he came to his Lord with a free heart, 84 and said to his father and his people: “Whom do you worship? 85 Is it false deities that you want to serve rather than Allah? 86 What is then your idea about the Lord of the worlds? 87 Then he glanced a glance on the stars. 88 And he said: "Verily, I am sick (with plague. He did this trick to remain in their temple of idols to destroy them and not to accompany them to the pagan's feast)." 89 So they turned away from him, departing. 90 Then he turned towards their gods and said: "Why do you not eat (of these offerings)? 91 “What is the matter with you, that you do not say anything?” 92 He then began striking them with his right hand, unseen by the people. 93 Then the people came toward him, hastening. 94 He said, 'Do you serve what you hew, 95 while it is Allah Who has created you and all that you make?” 96 They said: build for him a building and cast him into the flaming fire. 97 (This failing), they then sought a stratagem against him, but We made them the ones most humiliated! 98 He said: 'I will go to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 Lord, grant me a righteous son.” 100 We gave him the good news that he would have a patient, forbearing son. 101 And when (his son) was old enough to walk with him, (Abraham) said: O my dear son, I have seen in a dream that I must sacrifice thee. So look, what thinkest thou? He said: O my father! Do that which thou art commanded. Allah willing, thou shalt find me of the steadfast. 102 Then, when they had both surrendered (to Allah), and he had flung him down upon his face, 103 We called out to him: "O Abraham, 104 You have fulfilled the vision." Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 105 This is indeed the manifest trial.' 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 and left for him among the later folk 108 "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" 109 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 110 Surely he was one of Our believing servants. 111 Then, We gave him the glad tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous, 112 And We sent blessings upon him and Ishaq; and among their descendants some who do good deeds, and some who clearly wrong themselves. 113
