And assuredly Nuh cried unto us; and We are the Best of answerers! 75 We rescued him and his people from the greatest affliction 76 and made his offspring the only ones to survive, 77 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 78 'Peace be upon Noah among all beings!' 79 This is how We reward the virtuous. 80 Verily, he [Nuh (Noah)] was one of Our believing slaves. 81 Then We drowned the other (disbelievers and polytheists, etc.). 82 ۞ And most surely Ibrahim followed his way. 83 when he came unto his Lord with a pure heart, 84 [And] when he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship? 85 "Is it a falsehood- gods other than Allah- that ye desire? 86 What think you then of the Lord of all Being?' 87 He looked up at the stars. 88 He then said, “I feel sick (of you)!” 89 But they turned their backs and went away from him. 90 Then he turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? 91 What is the matter with you, that you do not speak' 92 He then began striking them with his right hand, unseen by the people. 93 Then they advanced toward him, hastening. 94 Abraham said to them: “Do you worship what you yourselves have carved with your own hands 95 When Allah hath created you and what ye make? 96 They said: Build for him a furnace, then cast him into the burning fire. 97 They had contrived an evil plan against him, but We abased them all. 98 And he said, “Indeed I shall go to my Lord Who will guide me.” 99 My Lord! Vouchsafe me of the righteous. 100 We gave him the glad news of the birth of a forbearing son. 101 And when he reached with him [the age of] exertion, he said, "O my son, indeed I have seen in a dream that I [must] sacrifice you, so see what you think." He said, "O my father, do as you are commanded. You will find me, if Allah wills, of the steadfast." 102 And when they had both submitted and he put him down upon his forehead, 103 And We called out to him saying: O Ibrahim! 104 you have fulfilled what you were commanded to do in your dream." Thus do We reward the righteous ones. 105 Most surely this is a manifest trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty victim. 107 And left (his hallowed memory) for posterity. 108 'Peace be upon Abraham' 109 Verily We! thus We compense the well-doers. 110 Verily, he was one of Our believing slaves. 111 We gave him the glad news of the birth of Isaac, one of the righteous Prophets. 112 And We blessed him, and Isaac; and of their seed some are good-doers, and some manifest self-wrongers. 113
