3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
And Nuh did certainly call upon Us, and most excellent answerer of prayer are We. 75 And We rescued him and his family from the great distress (i.e. drowning), 76 And made his seed the survivors, 77 and left for him among the later folk 78 Peace and salutation to Nuh among the nations. 79 Thus do We reward the righteous ones. 80 For he was one of our believing Servants. 81 Then the rest we overwhelmed in the Flood. 82 ۞ Of his party was Abraham. 83 he came to his Lord with a sound heart. 84 and when he said to his father and to his nation: 'What do you worship? 85 Is it falsehood [as] gods other than Allah you desire? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the Worlds' 87 Then he cast a glance at the stars, 88 Then he said: Surely I am sick (of your worshipping these). 89 But they went away from him, turning their backs. 90 Then he slipped unto their gods and said: eat ye not? 91 What is the matter with you, why do you not speak?” 92 And he turned upon them smiting them with his right hand. 93 Thereupon the people came running to him. 94 He said: "Worship ye that which ye have (yourselves) carved? 95 while it is Allah Who has created you and all that you make?” 96 They said: Build for him a building and fling him in the red-hotfire. 97 And they desired a war against him, but We brought them low. 98 And [Abraham] said: "Verily, I shall [leave this land and] go wherever my Sustainer will guide me!" 99 My Lord! grant me of the doers of good deeds. 100 So We gave him the good news of a clement son. 101 And [one day,] when [the child] had become old enough to share in his [father's] endeavours, the latter said: "O my dear son! I have seen in a dream that I should sacrifice thee: consider, then, what would be thy view!" [Ishmael] answered: "O my father! Do as thou art bidden: thou wilt find me, if God so wills, among those who are patient in adversity!" 102 When they had both submitted to God, and he had laid his son down on his face, 103 We called out to him "O Abraham! 104 you have fulfilled what you were commanded to do in your dream." Thus do We reward the righteous ones. 105 Indeed, this was the clear trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 And We left (this blessing) for him among generations (to come) in later times: 108 "Peace be upon Abraham!" 109 That is how We recompense the righteous: 110 Surely he was one of Our believing servants. 111 And We gave him the good news of Isaac, a Prophet and among the righteous ones. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. And of their seed are some who do good, and some who plainly wrong themselves. 113
