Noah called to Us, and We are the Best to answer. 75 And We delivered him and his people from the Great Calamity, 76 and caused his offspring to endure [on earth]; 77 And left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 78 Peace and salutation to Nuh among the nations. 79 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 80 for he was truly one of our believing servants: 81 Then We drowned the other (disbelievers and polytheists, etc.). 82 ۞ And most surely Ibrahim followed his way. 83 When he came to his Lord with a free heart, 84 Behold! he said to his father and to his people, "What is that which ye worship? 85 Is it false deities that you want to serve rather than Allah? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the whole Universe?” 87 Then he looked at the stars, looking up once, 88 Then said: Lo! I feel sick! 89 So they departed from him turning their backs. 90 Then he slipped unto their gods and said: eat ye not? 91 "What is the matter with you that you speak not?" 92 Then he attacked them, striking with his right hand. 93 Then came the others to him hastening. 94 He said: worship ye that which ye carve. 95 And Allah has created you and what you make. 96 They said, "Construct for him a furnace and throw him into the burning fire." 97 Their desire was to outwit him, but We made them to be the humiliated. 98 He said, "I will go to my Lord: He is sure to guide me. 99 My Lord! Bestow on me a son who will be of the righteous. 100 So We gave him the good news of a boy, possessing forbearance. 101 And when he attained the age of running with him, he said: O my son! verily I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering thee; so look, what considerest thou? He said: O my father! do that which thou art commanded; thou shalt find me, Allah willing, of the patients. 102 Then (remember) when they both submitted to Allah’s command, and Ibrahim lay his son facing downwards. (The knife did not hurt Ismail) 103 And We called out to him: "O Abraham! 104 You have indeed shown the truth of the vision; surely thus do We reward the doers of good: 105 Indeed this was a clear test. 106 And We ransomed him with a momentous sacrifice: 107 And We perpetuated (praise) to him among the later generations. 108 "Peace upon Abraham." 109 This is how We reward the virtuous. 110 he was among Our believing servants. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishaque (Isaac) a Prophet from the righteous. 112 and We blessed him and Isaac: but among the offspring of these two there were [destined] to be both doers of good and such as would glaringly sin against themselves. 113
