And assuredly Nuh cried unto us; and We are the Best of answerers! 75 And We delivered him and his people from the Great Calamity, 76 And made his progeny to endure (on this earth); 77 And We perpetuated to him (praise) among the later generations. 78 Peace be upon Nooh, among the entire people. 79 This is how We reward the virtuous. 80 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 81 Then We drowned the other (disbelievers and polytheists, etc.). 82 ۞ Abraham was one of his followers. 83 When he came to his Lord, with a sound heart. (Free from falsehood). 84 and [thus] spoke to his father and his people: "What is it that you worship? 85 Is it a falsehood - gods beside Allah - that ye desire? 86 What think you then of the Lord of all Being?' 87 He then shot a glance at the stars. 88 and said: 'Surely, I am sick (of what you worship)' 89 So turning their backs, they went away from him. 90 Then he turned to their aliha (gods) and said: "Will you not eat (of the offering before you)? 91 What is the matter with you, why do you not speak?” 92 Then he attacked them, striking with his right hand. 93 Thereafter they (the people) came to him in haste. 94 He said: "Worship ye that which ye have (yourselves) carved? 95 "When God has created you and what you make?" 96 They said, “Construct a building (furnace) for him, and then cast him in the blazing fire!” 97 And they designed a snare for him, but We made them the undermost. 98 He said, 'I am going to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 "O my Lord! Grant me a righteous (son)!" 100 We gave him the good news that he would have a patient, forbearing son. 101 When he was old enough to go about with him, he said: "O my son, I dreamt that I was sacrificing you. Consider, what you think?" He replied: "Father, do as you are commanded. If God pleases you will find me firm." 102 And when they had both submitted and he put him down upon his forehead, 103 And We called out to him: "O Abraham! 104 “You have indeed made the dream come true”; and this is how We reward the virtuous. 105 Lo! that verily was a clear test. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 And left (his hallowed memory) for posterity. 108 'Peace be upon Abraham!' 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good. 110 He was one of Our believing worshipers. 111 And We gave him the good news of Isaac, a Prophet and among the righteous ones. 112 We had blessed him and Isaac. Some of their offspring were righteous and others were openly unjust to themselves. 113
