And Nuh did certainly call upon Us, and most excellent answerer of prayer are We. 75 We saved him and his people from the great distress, 76 and We made his seed the survivors, 77 And left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 78 "Peace and salutation to Noah among the nations!" 79 Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 80 he was among Our believing servants. 81 Afterwards We drowned the others. 82 ۞ Of his party was Abraham. 83 When he came to his Lord, with a sound heart. (Free from falsehood). 84 [And] when he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship? 85 Is it falsehood [as] gods other than Allah you desire? 86 "Then what is your idea about the Lord of the worlds?" 87 He cast a glance at the stars 88 And said, "Indeed, I am [about to be] ill." 89 So they turned away from him, departing. 90 Then he turned to their gods, and said: 'What do you eat? 91 “What is the matter with you, that you do not say anything?” 92 Then he turned upon them, striking them with his right hand, 93 Thereafter they (the people) came to him in haste. 94 He said: 'Do you worship what you, yourselves have carved 95 when it is Allah who created you and all that you do' 96 They said, 'Build him a building, and cast him into the furnace!' 97 (This failing), they then sought a stratagem against him, but We made them the ones most humiliated! 98 And he said: Surely I fly to my lord; He will guide me. 99 My Lord! grant me of the doers of good deeds. 100 We gave him the glad news of the birth of a forbearing son. 101 And when (his son) was old enough to walk with him, (Abraham) said: O my dear son, I have seen in a dream that I must sacrifice thee. So look, what thinkest thou? He said: O my father! Do that which thou art commanded. Allah willing, thou shalt find me of the steadfast. 102 Then, when they had both submitted themselves (to the Will of Allah), and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (or on the side of his forehead for slaughtering); 103 We called to him, "Abraham, 104 You have fulfilled the dream (vision)!" Verily! Thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 105 Indeed this was a clear test. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 and left him thus to be remembered among later generations: 108 'Peace be upon Abraham' 109 Thus indeed do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 110 he was among Our believing servants. 111 And We gave him the good news of Isaac - a prophet,- one of the Righteous. 112 And We blessed him, and Isaac; and of their seed some are good-doers, and some manifest self-wrongers. 113
