3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
Noah cried to Us, and how excellent was Our response! 75 for We saved him and his household from that awesome calamity, 76 And We made his offspring the survivors. 77 We perpetuated his praise in later generations. 78 "Peace and salutation to Noah among the nations!" 79 Thus do We surely reward the doers of good. 80 Surely he was among Our faithful creatures. 81 Then afterwards We drowned the rest. 82 ۞ Of his party was also Abraham; 83 when he turned to his Sustainer with a heart free of evil, 84 and said to his father and his people: “Whom do you worship? 85 Why do you solicit false gods instead of God? 86 What do you think about the Lord of the Universe?" 87 And he cast a look at the stars 88 Then he said: Surely I am sick (of your worshipping these). 89 So they turned away from him, and departed. 90 Then turned he to their gods and said: Will ye not eat? 91 What aileth ye that ye speak not? 92 Then he started striking them down with his right hand. 93 So the people descended upon him. 94 Said he: What! do you worship what you hew out? 95 “Whereas Allah has created you and your actions?” 96 They exclaimed: "Build a pyre for him, and cast him into the blazing fire!" 97 So they tried to execute their evil scheme upon him We therefore degraded them. (Allah saved him, by commanding the fire to turn cool). 98 And he said: "I am going away to my Lord who will show me the way. 99 Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 So We gave him tidings of a gentle son. 101 And when he attained to working with him, he said: O my son! surely I have seen in a dream that I should sacrifice you; consider then what you see. He said: O my father! do what you are commanded; if Allah please, you will find me of the patient ones. 102 Then, when they had both submitted themselves (to the Will of Allah), and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (or on the side of his forehead for slaughtering); 103 We called out to him: "O Abraham, 104 "Thou hast already fulfilled the vision!" - thus indeed do We reward those who do right. 105 that surely was a manifest trial, 106 And We ransomed him with a momentous sacrifice: 107 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 108 "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" 109 Thus indeed do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 110 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. 111 And We gave him the good news of Isaac, a Prophet and among the righteous ones. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. Among the offspring of the two some did good and some plainly wronged themselves. 113

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
