Noah had called upon Us (earlier). See, how excellent We were in answering him! 75 And We saved him and his family from the great affliction. 76 And made his progeny to endure (on this earth); 77 and left for him among the later folk 78 Salamun (peace) be upon Nuh (Noah) (from Us) among the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)!" 79 Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 80 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 81 Then We drowned the others 82 ۞ And Abraham indeed was of his inducement, 83 when he came unto his Lord with a pure heart, 84 [And] when he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship? 85 "Is it a falsehood aliha (gods) other than Allah that you seek? 86 What, then, do you think of the Sustainer of all the worlds?" 87 He then shot a glance at the stars. 88 And said, "I am sick," 89 So they departed from him turning their backs. 90 Then he went quietly to the (temple of the deities) and said: “What is the matter with you, why do you not eat? 91 What is [wrong] with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then he started striking them down with his right hand. 93 Then came (the worshippers) with hurried steps, and faced (him). 94 He said, 'Do you serve what you hew, 95 "While Allah has created you and what you make!" 96 "Build a pyre for him and throw him into the raging fire." 97 And they devised a plot for him, but We made them the humble. 98 (Abraham) said, "I will go to my Lord who will guide me". 99 My Lord! Vouchsafe me of the righteous. 100 Wherefore We gave him the glad tidings of a boy gentle. 101 and when he was old enough to go about and work with him, (one day) Abraham said to him: “My son, I see in my dream that I am slaughtering you. So consider (and tell me) what you think.” He said: “Do as you are bidden. You will find me, if Allah so wills, among the steadfast.” 102 Then, when they had both surrendered (to Allah), and he had flung him down upon his face, 103 We called to him, "Abraham, 104 You have fulfilled the dream (vision)!" Verily! Thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 105 Verily, that indeed was a manifest trial 106 Then We ransomed him with a tremendous victim. 107 And We left (this blessing) for him among generations (to come) in later times: 108 Peace be unto Abraham! 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good 110 truly, he was one of Our faithful servants. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Is-haq, a prophet, and of the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. Among the offspring of the two some did good and some plainly wronged themselves. 113
