Noah had verily called to Us. And how gracious was He who answered (him). 75 And We delivered him and his people from the Great Calamity, 76 And, his progeny, them We made the survivors (i.e. Shem, Ham and Japheth). 77 We perpetuated his praise in later generations. 78 Peace be upon Nooh, among the entire people. 79 As such We recompense the gooddoers, 80 he was truly one of Our faithful servants. 81 Then the rest we overwhelmed in the Flood. 82 ۞ Verily among those who followed his Way was Abraham. 83 When he came unto his Lord with a whole heart; 84 When he said to his father and his people: What is it that you worship? 85 Is it a falsehood-god beside Allah that ye desire? 86 What do you imagine the Lord of the worlds to be?" 87 And he glanced a glance at the stars 88 and said, "Verily, I am sick [at heart]!" 89 So they departed from him turning their backs. 90 Then he slipped unto their gods and said: eat ye not? 91 "What is the matter with you that you speak not?" 92 then he turned on them, striking them down with his right hand. 93 Then came the others to him hastening. 94 He said, "How can you worship what you yourselves have carved 95 "While Allah has created you and what you make!" 96 They said, "Build him a furnace, and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 But whereas they sought to do evil unto him, We [frustrated their designs, and thus] brought them low? 98 And he said: Surely I fly to my lord; He will guide me. 99 My Lord! Bestow on me a son who will be of the righteous. 100 We gave him the good news that he would have a patient, forbearing son. 101 Then, when (the son) reached (the age of) (serious) work with him, he said: "O my son! I see in vision that I offer thee in sacrifice: Now see what is thy view!" (The son) said: "O my father! Do as thou art commanded: thou will find me, if Allah so wills one practising Patience and Constancy!" 102 When they had surrendered, and he flung him upon his brow, 103 We called out: "O Abraham, 104 you have fulfilled the dream." It is thus indeed that We reward those who do good, 105 for, behold, all this was indeed a trial, clear in itself. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 And We left for him (a goodly remembrance) among generations (to come) in later times. 108 "Peace and salutation to Abraham!" 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good. 110 He is truly among Our faithful creatures. 111 And we gave him tidings of the birth of Isaac, a prophet of the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. Among their descendants are some who do good, but some who wrong themselves. 113
