And Noah verily prayed unto Us, and gracious was the Hearer of his prayer 75 for We saved him and his household from that awesome calamity, 76 And We made his offspring the survivors. 77 And We left (this blessing) for him among generations to come in later times: 78 'Peace be upon Noah among all beings!' 79 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 80 for he was truly one of our believing servants: 81 Afterwards We drowned the others. 82 ۞ AND, BEHOLD, of his persuasion was Abraham, too, 83 Behold! he approached his Lord with a sound heart. 84 When he said to his father and his people: What is it that you worship? 85 Would you serve false deities instead of God? 86 What, then, do you think of the Sustainer of all the worlds?" 87 Then he looked carefully at the stars 88 and said: “I am sick.” 89 But they went away from him, turning their backs. 90 Then he turned aside to their gods secretly and said: What! do you not eat? 91 What is the matter with you, that you do not speak' 92 then he turned on them, striking them down with his right hand. 93 Then they advanced toward him, hastening. 94 He answered: "Do you worship something that you [yourselves] have carved, 95 even though God created both you and that which you have made?" 96 They said: build for him a building and cast him into the flaming fire. 97 So they contrived a plot against him, but We made them abject. 98 Abraham said: “I am going to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 Lord, grant me a righteous son.” 100 So We gave him tidings of a gentle son. 101 And when he attained the age of running with him, he said: O my son! verily I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering thee; so look, what considerest thou? He said: O my father! do that which thou art commanded; thou shalt find me, Allah willing, of the patients. 102 So when they both submitted and he threw him down upon his forehead, 103 We called to him, "Abraham, 104 Of a surety thou hast fulfilled the vision. Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 105 Verily, that indeed was a manifest trial 106 And We ransomed him with a momentous sacrifice: 107 and left him thus to be succeeded by a group [of followers] among later generations: 108 "Peace upon Abraham." 109 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 110 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 111 So We gave him the good news of Isaac, apostle, who is among the righteous. 112 We blessed him and Isaac: but of their progeny are (some) that do right, and (some) that obviously do wrong, to their own souls. 113
